It's almost the 10 year anniversary of a major flood that affected parts of southern Alberta. It was the type of flood you haven't seen in 100 years and left a large area of the core of Calgary under water. From neighborhoods being submerged to transit lines and train tunnels filled with water, it was a catastrophic event that we were fortunate enough to have recovered from. Since then, a large effort has been placed towards flood mitigation, and hopefully we won't have to deal with another event like this for a long time.

That remembers me the Vargas tragedy (Venezuela) back to 1999, it's by far the worst that i saw in my life.
