Before you started keying in "Congratulations, Pat!" This ain't my wedding! š
As an adult, one of the things youāll probably be occupied with is attending your friendsā weddings. Last weekend, I attended another one; in fact, itās the third wedding this year.
Both the groom and the bride used to work in the company Iām working with; the girl resigned about five years ago while the groom took a better opportunity just recently. Every wedding is unique and this oneās not an exemption. If my memory serves me well, they got engaged late 2019.
I personally heard from the groom how challenging the preparation of the wedding was from financing to logistics. The groom is from Camiguin, an Island in Mindanao that could be accessed through a direct flight from Cebu or via boat from Cagayan. I think there are other ways to reach Camiguin but Iām not sure about the details. On the other hand, the bride is born and raised here in Cebu. After contemplating, theyāve decided to hold the wedding here in Cebu and that means flying the entire family of the groom from Camiguin to Cebu. That alone is very expensive! But itās customary and important that family members are gathered during such a huge occasion and milestone in oneās life.
The initial plan was to get wed in 2020, but we all know what happened in 2020. It was the year the world stopped and slowed down as we fear for our lives and our loved onesā lives. Consequently, the wedding plan was put on hold due to various travel and event restrictions to deter the spread of COVID. Everything was beyond their control; thereās nothing they could do but to wait until things go back to normal. The wait took longer than expected; after two years of planning their wedding and after all the challenges they had to go through, they were finally able to tie the knot last Saturday.
Iād say it was worth every minute of waiting; the wedding was perfect and by far the best wedding Iāve attending this year. You can check out the photos to see their dream-like venue filled with flowers.
In life, we wonāt instantly get the things we desire but with Godās grace weāll definitely fulfill those dreams one day. One day soon.

Happy married life to the new couples, the venue decoration is awesome.
Covid caused lots of setbacks but the most important thing is that they eventually got married regardless of the troubles they encountered.
That's true @george-dee! The event was lovely. āŗļø
It is challenging to organize a perfect wedding in today's high prices. But as shown in the photos, the above couple has been able to hold a beautiful wedding ceremony. It is commendable that the marriage hall is beautifully and attractively decorated. I take this opportunity to congratulate the lovely couple who finally got married despite all the difficulties.
This is true, @madushanka! In Cebu, Philippines, you'll need at least Php 200,000 or $3,700 for a simple yet decent wedding. That's a lot of money to be honest.
Hermosa decoraciĆ³n š me encanto. Felicidades para los reciĆ©n casados š„
