The boat house in Tonle Sap , Siam Riep , Cambodia
I have post about the sea gypsy in Semporna , Sabah , Borneo. Those was people who live and grow up by staying and living on their boat at the sea. They also being call nationless people because they dont have the nation identification card since they never being register on the Malaysian system because they very seldom come to land. The good news is they already start adapting to stay on land and even find job and education from land.
While i was in Siem Reap , Cambodia i found the landless people who stay at their boat house for almost rest of their life. The different between them and the sea gypsy in our state is their boat being dock near the land. They was living on boat because making house on land is very expensive and they cant affort it with their small revenue from fishing and selling it to buyer. I think staying in boat is better than being homeless around the town because at least they still own the boat to sleep , shower and to cook.
When i was walking around Tonle Sap , Siem Reap , I realize that the was many house boat being dock around the lake. The kid was very friendly , They become my friend and telling story about their dream . I guess , the dream is exist as long as they being given hope. Even their dream is not huge enought for people like us , but their dream like to have their own pet , or house at land was very huge for them. I wish their dream come true and their al-mighty who ever they trust open a way for them to reach their dream.
