Initiative, good things about 2020
I KNOW that this initiative happened about 2 months ago, but I promised Eli at the time and myself that I was going to do it. But besides the fact that I forgot about it at the time, some things in life didn't allow me to do it (¨life¨ is me not organising myself well). But nothing, here I am and I want to write about it.
Definitely this year 2020, marked a before and an after on me. I dare to generalize and say that it was a difficult year for everyone, but I understand that most of us looked for a way to make the most of it in one way or another.
I was lucky to be able to celebrate my birthday before the lock down, not knowing that it was one of the last outings I was going to have. I didn't leave my house until after the first 5 months (due to my parents paranoia). I was suspended from work (not fired), and the projects I had at the time were stopped, among other things that are not necessary to mention because the idea of the post is to see the good, not to remember the bad. So, let´s start talking about them.
The first thing I managed to do....
As things got a bit sour at work, I decided to get my portfolio back on track, as I hadn't updated it for a few years. I took the opportunity and cleaned up some new projects I had and I must say it looked pretty good.
Then I joined linkedIn I had been wanting to do that for a long time, and I finally got my portfolio ready there, in case an opportunity arises. It honestly didn't make much of a difference. But at least I have it available.
The second thing...
I had been wanting to do some kind of course in Graphic Design for a long time, because since university I've had a certain fondness for it, and right at work I was assigned a lot of projects where I had to design certain types of signage and use some of the software.
So, I decided to do an online course, about 40 hours on LinkedIn Learning, as they had an offer of one month free, and well, I did the course in 2 weeks. Then I completed with other drawing courses that I liked and pattern design. Now I think I can say that I am a Graphic Designer at heart, and I have an online certificate. And i do enjoy very much making some designs on the apps, my next step would be buying an ipad to draw with an apple pen.
The third thing...
There came a point where I needed to generate income somehow, because I was suspended from work and was earning practically nothing, only what the government was giving away. So I started the brand Tripode, where I started uploading pictures and then I evolved it to online shops for printing and pattern design.
The fourth and final thing...
As the income on those print sites is not very stable, I continued my search on the internet for alternative jobs until I found Hive (well actually steemit) and well, the rest is history. A story that could take me up to 4 posts to write.
But, in short it has been the best thing that has happened to me in this 2020, without a doubt, I have met many people, I have learned about many cultures, I have laughed, I have cried, my skin has crawled, I have learned about business, finance, trading, psychology.
I don't think I should talk about the SMILE project, which so far has been very good and is bearing a lot of fruit.
After making this summary of the year, I can finally close the chapter and say
I SAW YOU 2020

Iniciativa, lo bueno del 2020
YA SE que esta iniciativa pasó como hacen 2 meses, pero le prometí a Eli en su momento y a mi misma que sí la iba a hacer. Pero además de que se me olvidó en un momento algunas cosas de la vida no me permitieron hacerla (¨la vida¨ soy yo no organizándome bien). Pero nada, aquí estoy y quiero escribir sobre esto.
Definitivamente este año 2020, marcó un antes y un después. Me atrevo a generalizar y decir que fué un año difícil para todos, pero entiendo que la mayoría buscó la forma de sacarle provecho de una forma u otra.
En mi casó fué pasando tragedia por tragedia, tuve suerte en poder celebrar mi cumpleaños antes del encierro, sin saber que fué una de las últimas salidas que iba a tener. No salí de mi casa como hasta después de los 5 primeros meses (por paranoias de mis padres). Me suspendieron en el trabajo, y se pararon los proyectos que tenía en el momento, entre otras cosas que no son necesarias mencionar porque la idea del post es ver lo bueno, no acordarnos de lo malo.
Lo primero que logré...
En vista de que las cosas se pusieron un poco agrias en mi trabajo, decidí ponerme las pilas con mi portafolio que no lo había actualizado desde hacen unos años. Aproveché y limpié algunos proyectos nuevos que tenía y debo decir que me quedó muy bien.
Luego me uní a linkedIn tenía un buen tiempo que quería hacerlo, y por fín preparé mi portafolio allí, por si se presenta alguna oportunidad.
Lo segundo...
Tenía un buen tiempo que quería hacer algún tipo de curso en Diseño Gráfico, porque desde la universidad he tenido cierta afición hacia eso, y justo en el trabajo me asignaban muchos proyectos en los que había que diseñar ciertos tipos de señalética y utilizar algunos de los programas.
Por lo tanto, me animé a hacer un curso online, como de 40 horas en LinkedIn Learning, ya que justo tienen una oferta de un mes gratis, y bueno, hice el curso en 2 semanas. Luego completé con otros cursos de dibujo que me gustaron y diseño de patrones. Ahora creo que puedo decir que soy Diseñadora Gráfica de corazón, y que tengo un certificado online.
Lo tercero...
Llegó un punto en el que necesitaba generar ingresos de alguna forma, porque suspendida en el trabajo no estaba ganando nada prácticamente, solo lo que el gobierno estaba regalando. Por lo tanto inicié la marca Tripode, en donde comencé subiendo fotografías y luego lo fuí evolucionando hasta tener tiendas online de impresión y diseño de patrones.
Lo cuarto y último...
Como los ingresos en esas páginas de impresión no son muy estables, continué mi búsqueda en internet de otros trabajos alternativos hasta que conseguí a Hive (bueno realmente steemit) y bueno, el resto es historia. Una historia que podría demorarme hasta 4 posts escribiendo.
Pero, en resumen ha sido lo mejor que me ha pasado en este 2020, sin duda alguna, he conocido mucha gente, he aprendido de muchas culturas, me he reído, he llorado, se me ha erizado la piel, he aprendido de negocios, finanzas, trading, psicología.
Creo que no debo hablar del proyecto SMILE, que hasta ahora ha sido muy bueno y está dando muchos frutos.
Luego de hacer este resumen del año, por fín puedo cerrar capitulo y decir
