Last Garden Works before the Winter

in Hive Gardeninglast year

( EN / DE ) Today was once again a mostly sunny and mild late autumn day, but since the weather forecast has predicted rain starting tomorrow and then soon frost and snow, it was now time to move the summer plants into their winter quarters.

Various citrus plants, oleander, an olive tree, yasmin and my beloved margarita stem do not tolerate our winters here and therefore need to be protected. Usually they come inside much earlier, usually in early October, but this year it was still wonderfully warm, so they were able to spend more time in the fresh air.

It was also time for the dahlias to come out of the ground and now they get to spend the winter in a box in the dark cellar.

It is very strange to see so many flowers blooming in mid-November in our latitudes, here I have captured a few impressions for you:

Roses, waylily, marigolds, watercress, daisies, rosemary, lavender and even the lilac bloom!
Rosen, Weglilie, Ringelblumen, Brunnenkresse, Gänseblümchen, Rosmarin, Lavendel und sogar der Flieder blühen!

Next stop, my rose arch, where every year the beautiful showy vines bloom. Removing them in the fall is a bit of a hassle because they twine so much around the poles and each other. But the blooms in the summer are definitely worth it!

And collected seeds for the coming year
Und Samen für das kommende Jahr gesammelt

Then, something "heavy" to do. My sister had dismantled the grandchildren's large trampoline because it was already too rusty. This trampoline was weighted down with large stones, so-called "Stainzer Platten" (special stones from Styria).
And exactly those stones will now be my project for the coming spring, because I choose them to beautify the bottom of my rose arch.
Now I have carried them there first of all, how exactly I will this, I do not know yet. But looks not bad by now.

Then it got dark already, I don't like it at all when the days are so short.

Finally, quickly the delicate plants from my balcony into their winter room and ready. Not only the work is done, but also I'm done. And do not ask how my back is!

Good night and good hibernation you plants, in a few months you can come out again

You have quite massive garden and plenty flowers! is it easy to grow citrus? what would be the ideal temperature for it?

I have never seen flowers on my rosemary. I had one that lasted 5 years. I only need to bring my plants in a few days a year and that is enough of a job.

Tolle Garten Bericht @beeber!

!ALIVE
