Dear Torch Keepers and all other Hivians!
As you may know, the Hivetorch is a social experiment to show trust and speed on the Hive blockchain. The one who gets is, chooses the next one - that simple. Read more about it´s background and follow the list of all transfers in my introduction post here.
Finally we made it, thanks to you!
The 333th transfer just has happened, from @deeanndmathews to @owasco . It took app. 10 months (314 days exactly), but now we have accumulated 558 Hive. In fact in the meantime we had already transfer no. 334. The Torch seems truely unstoppable 😁!
On average it was slightly more than one jump per day. A few times for a week nothing happened (and I had to chase people "gently"), but sometimes it was really crazy! The day with the most transfers was the 10th March 2021, where the Torch passed no less than 14 stations! A special thanks to @mary-me, @thatgermandude, @cmmemes, @memehub, @reazuliqbal, @zacu, @linco, @hossainbd, @rehan12, @toushik, @minhajulmredol, @surrealfia and @artistparthoroy, many from the very active Bangladeshi Hive community!
So, as promised, the community shall decide what to do with it.
There are several possibilities:
- Burn by sending to @null
- Continue until 500 transfers and then vote again
- Transfer the sum to support project XYZ
Please vote for one of them below in the comments. If you have a suggestion for an interesting project, please add it as a comment below 3) starting with "3)a (or b, c, etc) - TITLE" followed by a brief description of the project so that all have an understanding of what it is about. I will add an example.
Or if you have a completely different idea, add a comment separately
The option/suggestion with the most votes after one week will be pursued and announced in a week!
So it is up to you now! Add your suggestions, but also important: Please check in before a week is over to vote for one (or more) options! The more votes the more valid the decision will be!!

3) Transfer the sum to support project:
3b: Continue until 500 and send the sum collected so far to @peakd to support their awesome work for Hive.
In turn @peakd could create a special Hive torch badge and give it to the Hivetorch keepers so far and all future ones. After 500 vote again.
3a: Add the sum to the price pool of the ongoing Hivechess tournament
This is an online chess tournament with chess players from all the world, regardless of Hivers, Steemians, or Blurtters
cool, congrats on reaching 333, donate / distribute the sum to several decentralized #hive #meetup groups around the world like DACH, Hive Austria and other meetups who like to participate.
Please nameit as 3.c The more specific the better! It is rather fuzzy for now. How it should be distributed, and which accounts?

Good idea, but probably very few will see this. I think most people want to continue until 500 transfers. I will in the meantime collect all suggestions including this too!

@stayoutoftherz i vote for 2. And do a dpoll in the week after where there are 3 support projects , I hate chess , i think it needs to be a help and profit to the hive platform.

3b sounded interesting as it would support the PeakD project. A very good one in my opinion. And it would be cool to see who had been trusted with the Hive Torch. I like that idea...
Buuuut... I think there’s a way bigger prize to be demonstrated here as a human interest story. We have the opportunity to show people outside of our community the level of trust we have built here on the Hive Blockchain! This could, eventually, turn into some huge PR.
Is there a chance that it could fail? Yes... but examining the potential and the upside... I think that this is something worth attempting.
So I’m voting for option 2. Let’s keep compounding trust on Hive with the #HiveTorch Initiative! 🙌
