Welcome to my blog! Dear friends of this wonderful platform, it is a pleasure for me to join this contest that enriches us in culture about our countries of origin, it is an honor for me to share about the cultural values of my Venezuela and that you can know it a little through my publication.

Cultural values of my country: Venezuela

0001-3286502922_20210622_210552_0000.png

I was born in Venezuela, and I have lived within its borders all my years, specifically in the region of the Llanos de Apure, where we are impregnated with culture and values that in spite of the time has remained.

The main values that identify us as Venezuelans and unite us as one nation are specific elements: our patriotic symbols, language, currency, religion, gastronomy and the different cultural manifestations.

Cultural values are part of our national identity and represent the set of beliefs, customs, traditions and relationships that identify us as Venezuelans.

Our greatest cultural value that identifies us is the Flag, the Coat of Arms and the National Anthem, it unites us as Venezuelans wherever we are. From the first stage of early education we are educated to respect our patriotic symbols and to carry them as a seal in our soul, with respect and responsibility.

In our tradition is the music: the joropo or also known as llanera music stands out in most of the zones of the country, also stands out the gaitas zulianas, the calipso in the state of Bolivar among others. In addition, there are very typical songs that we heard in our childhood and then we ourselves sing them to the little ones of the house: arroz con leche, arepita de manteca, Maria moñitos, los pollitos and el elefante, are some of those that bring back memories of my childhood.

The traditional dances apart from the joropo dance which is danced with colorful and leafy costumes but typically a liqui liqui is used. What Venezuelan has not done his joropo dance in elementary school with his beautiful liquiliqui? Most of us, whether we like it or not, have been touched by it.

The burriquita dance, drums, the "golpe tocuyano" or "joropo larense" and of course the spectacular "gaitas zulianas" that make us dance and cheer up our Christmas in Venezuela.

There are also celebrations in the different regions that begin with parades and colorful events, in recent years it has been rare, but it does not mean that they have been left behind. The carnivals of Callao and Carúpano stand out, floats and parades are presented in the streets of the city. Other customs are the dancing devils of Yare, the procession of the Nazarene, the burning of Juda during Holy Week, among others, the Chinita fair...

The gastronomy is part of our Venezuelan being, a lot of food on the table, with the whole family at the table and even for the visitor is part of our culture. The main ingredient is the family and sharing, the chalequeo and fun. And among the typical dishes we have our delicious corn Arepa, cachapas, pabellón criollo, sancocho, carne asada, hallacas and pan de jamón in December, the irreplaceable tequeños, the empanadas, the Andean pisca, the patacon zuliano, there are so many delicacies that I want them all just to tell you.

There are very autochthonous drinks of the region like the chicha, I name it first because it is my favorite, the carato, the tizana, papelón with lemon and the exquisite cocadas.

In Venezuela we are very believers of Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ, whether of Catholic or Evangelical denomination, and it is in our culture to believe in a Supreme Being who is great and wonderful.

I invite @alucar55 @erikaka @yoscandimaria to submit your entry, here you can see the contest rules.

I'm loving this country more and more, I've read a lot about Venezuela and there are so many things I would love to witness myself 😌

You've been living within the borders all your life? That tells how much you know your culture and its cool.

Well done on giving these details about your culture, I learnt some things from you.

Venezuela! A country that is on my bucket list to tick off which will be soon hehe.

I Iove your country because of fact that you all hold religion as a priority which I do too.

Then your foods, how you all organize your festivals and also your dance. You guys love music and most of your classical music contains moral ballads which is usually passed down.

You post is well written and expressive, I enjoyed reading it. I wish the best of luck.

Venezuela, I can't wait to have my experience 😊

The traditional dances apart from the joropo dance which is danced with colorful and leafy costumes but typically a liqui liqui is used

This I know for sure that Venezuelans love dancing no matter their age, young and old the happiness and joy that's derived dancing this joropo dance

In Venezuela we are very believers of Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ, whether of Catholic or Evangelical denomination, and it is in our culture to believe in a Supreme Being who is great and wonderful.

I have read so many posts from the venezuelans and what I can say about them is that they love God and they worship in unity and love, serving God in one mind, that's truly beautiful.

Moreover it's part of the culture that we need to keep going forever

Me encantó tu post!

Bien escrito. ¡Buena suerte!

I admire Venezuelans a lot because of how you place high value on family relationships, your faith and celebrations. You have mentioned interesting dances like the joropo and burriquita dances which I am not familiar with. It's nice to learn new things about your culture.

Nicely written. Good luck!

Yes, we are very family oriented, our celebrations are always in montonera, that is, all the family and close friends, no one is missing 🤣 it's really wonderful. Thank you for your appreciation 💛
