No es un secreto para nadie que la pandemia ha sido una situación difícil para todos en el mundo, esto también abarca al personal de salud, incluyendo a enfermería. En esta publicación quiero hacer énfasis en el trabajo que debe de realizar enfermería para poder cuidar a aquellas personas que han sido contaminadas por Coronavirus y requieren de cuidados intensivos para su pronta recuperación.
It is not a secret for anyone that the pandemic has been a difficult situation for everyone in the world, this also includes health personnel, including nurses. In this publication I want to emphasize the work that nursing must do in order to care for those people who have been contaminated by Coronavirus and require intensive care for their speedy recovery.
Primero que nada, el hecho de que como profesionales antes de obtener nuestros títulos solemos estar preparados ya que hemos estudiado más de 3 años en una universidad donde día a día nos hablan sobre diferentes enfermedades y como tratarlas, sin embargo la llegada de un nuevo virus el cual terminó convirtiéndose en una pandemia es increíble ya que esto es diferente... ¿Por qué? Pues nadie nos ha preparado con anterioridad para saber como abarcar éste tema, y mucho menos nos han preparado mentalmente para una pandemia acerca de un virus que apareció de la nada y no sabemos lo suficiente acerca de él.
First of all, the fact that as professionals before obtaining our degrees we are usually prepared since we have studied for more than 3 years at a university where day by day they tell us about different diseases and how to treat them, however the arrival of a new virus which ended up becoming a pandemic is incredible since this is different ... Why? Well, no one has previously prepared us to know how to cover this topic, much less have we been mentally prepared for a pandemic about a virus that appeared out of nowhere and we do not know enough about it.
El trabajar de forma directa con pacientes que tengan Covid es todo un desafío profesional y emocional que debemos encarar como personal de enfermería. Enfermería es uno de los personales que tienen más exposición a contagiarse de virus, por esto mismo es que requieren de tanta protección al momento de ingresar a un área, esto ocurre ya que enfermería requiere mantener un contacto directo con el paciente al momento de administrar sus medicamentos, realizar sus cuidados o la vigilancia continua de signos vitales.
Working directly with patients who have Covid is a professional and emotional challenge that we must face as nurses. Nursing is one of the personnel with the most exposure to being infected with viruses, for this reason they require so much protection when entering an area, this occurs since nursing requires direct contact with the patient when administering their medications, perform your care or continuous monitoring of vital signs.
Tampoco es un secreto saber que esta profesión conlleva a diversos riesgos, sin embargo el estar expuesto a un virus por más de 24 horas por guardia pone en tensión en cualquiera.
It is also not a secret to know that this profession carries various risks, however being exposed to a virus for more than 24 hours per shift puts a strain on anyone.
Nuestro objetivo es ver a nuestros pacientes recuperados a pesar de las adversidades que se pueden llegar a presentar, nuestro objetivo es que se pueda vencer a este virus y combatirlo juntos a través de lo más humanamente posible para así superar la situación que se está viviendo actualmente, es por esto mismo que se repite tanto el "quédate en casa" y todas las normas de bioseguridad para prevenir la propagación del Coronavirus
Our goal is to see our patients recovered despite the adversities that may arise, our goal is that we can defeat this virus and fight it together through the most humanly possible way in order to overcome the situation that is currently being experienced. This is why the "stay at home" and all the biosafety regulations are repeated so much to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus
En conclusión podríamos decir que enfermería lleva sobre sus hombros una parte muy importante llamada responsabilidad en la atención y cuidados entregados al paciente, es por esto que se realiza un trabajo con gran esmero para favorecer los resultados de recuperación, es por eso que vuelvo a decir ésta es una profesión que está entregada al combate contra el Coronavirus.
In conclusion we could say that nursing carries on its shoulders a very important part called responsibility in the care and care delivered to the patient, that is why work is done with great care to promote recovery results, that is why I say again This is a profession that is dedicated to the fight against Coronavirus.
