On the road to San Fernando Apure but even in the Guárico state, we find this tourist hostel that is a place that I consider luxury, and not for the cost of its service, which is really cheap, but for its location and privileged view, a construction of wood surrounded by a placid lagoon that makes up the perfect landscape to take a break and with some time and the necessary equipment to practice some sport fishing and with some cunning and luck to get some Cachamas (very popular fish in the region) from one of its balconies or docks.
Although we were only passing through, in the short time we were there, it served to relax us, refresh us with a few beers to rest from the heat on the road, but the most important thing was that it served as a bridge to connect energetically with the mood of the Plain, definitely much slower and more contemplative than the city vibrations we still carry.
And it is that one of the things that this region contrasts with the rest of the country is precisely its temporality that moves in other cadences.
This site for me marked the separation of a plain that leaves large plantations behind, marked by industrial agricultural development, to one dedicated to raising cattle in large areas, which feels more rural, at least in the landscape from the highway that traces for hundreds of kilometers that great plain that seems infinite.

Vía a San Fernando Apure pero aun en el estado Guárico, encontramos este parador turístico que es un sitio que considero de lujo, y no por el costo de su servicio, que realmente es económico, sino por su ubicación y vista privilegiada, una construcción de madera rodeada por una plácida laguna que conforma el paisaje perfecto para tomar un descanso y con algo de tiempo y equipos necesarios practicar un poco de pesca deportiva y con algo de astucia y suerte sacar algunas “Cachamas” (pescado muy popular en la llano) desde uno de sus balcones o muelles.
Aunque solamente estábamos de paso, en el poco tiempo que estuvimos ahí, sirvió para relajarnos, refrescarnos con unas cervezas para descansar del calor que hace en la carretera, pero lo más importantes fue que sirvió de puente para conectarnos energéticamente con el mood del llano, definitivamente mucho más lento y contemplativo que las vibraciones citadinas que aún cargamos encima. Y es que una de las cosas que contrasta esta región con el resto del país es justamente su temporalidad que se mueve en otras cadencias.
Este sitio para mi marcó la separación de un llano que va dejando atrás las grandes plantaciones, marcado por el desarrollo agrícola industrial, a uno dedicado a la cría de ganado en grandes extensiones, que se siente más rural, al menos en el paisaje desde la carretera que traza por cientos de kilómetros esa gran planicie que parece infinita.
