Among the abundant fauna of the Venezuelan plain, there is an animal that seems to dominate the scene near the lagoons and swamps formed in the rainy season. Alligators show themselves openly in puddles and swamps in search of some sun or waiting for some seized prey to satisfy their appetite.
Knowing that these reptiles are over there makes you think twice about approaching the shore of a lagoon without knowing it previously. Although they are not aggressive animals if they are not provoked, I definitely do not want to have a very close experience with them.
In a relatively small well I met these beautiful and lttle creatures, evidently their mother or father was nearby, imposing respect only with a minimal movement of their presence.
The relative abundance of these animals is such that at a certain time of the year it is very possible to see them crossing the road, and the inhabitants of the plain have historically incorporated the consumption of their meat into the exotic local gastronomy.
I really like an expression used in my country that says: "Alligators from the same puddle" to refer to people who specify characteristics or similar origin, denoting the malice or wrongdoing of those indicated.
I took these photos near Elorza in the Apure state, on the Venezuelan plain with my Canon T3i camera and a 75-300mm EF lens.

Entre la abundante fauna del llano venezolano, hay un animal que parece dominar la escena cerca de las lagunas y pantanos formados en la época de lluvia. Caimanes se exhiben sin tapujos en los charcos y pantanos en la búsqueda de un poco de sol o esperando alguna presa incauta para saciar su apetito.
Saber que estos reptiles están por allí hace pensarlos dos veces para acercarse a la orilla de alguna laguna sin conocer previamente. Aunque no son animales agresivos si no son provocados, definitivamente no quiero vivir una experiencia muy cercana con ellos
En un pozo relativamente pequeño me encontré a estas hermosas y pequeñas criaturas, evidentemente su madre o padre andaba cerca imponiendo respeto solo con un mínimo movimiento de su presencia.
La relativa abundancia de estos animales es tal, que en cierta época del año es muy posible verlos cruzando la carretera, además los pobladores del llano, históricamente han incorporado el consumo de su carne a la exótica gastronomía local.
Me gusta mucho una expresión usada en mi país que dice: “Caimanes del mismo pozo” para referirse a personas que comparten características u origen similar denotando la malicia o mal actuar de los señalados.
