Yesterday had a magical turn at the last moment, since I decided to spend the afternoon with my two little daughters in one of my favorite places in the whole city, the facilities of the Hacienda Santa Ana, founded at the end of the 18th century, in the colonial era, dedicated mainly to the cultivation and drying of coffee.
It is located in the Altamira area, specifically in the La Floresta urbanization, and since 1995 it has been the headquarters of the PDVSA La Estancia Art Center.
The main Venezuelan state oil company, in charge of the restoration and administration of this site, turned it into its arm for the artistic and cultural promotion of our country.
It is a true plant oasis, with a calm and cool atmosphere, during the week it is a meeting point for artistic groups and various workshops and on weekends it has an active cultural program.
Perhaps personally we don't go there so much because it's a bit far from our house, and I usually prefer to walk around the area, but this time we decided to vary the route with my girls and in 20 minutes we were already in that incredible garden.
Surrounded by many trees, extensive grassy steppes, and chickens, ducks and the occasional peacock walking throughout the garden, which seem to be the true hosts of the place. My girls found it a very nice and fun detail.
The site in general is very well preserved, It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Ideal to spend a cool afternoon, with children of any age, there is an area with a playground, something that as a parent I will always know how to appreciate,
It is also possible to be in the facilities of the old colonial house, the internal patio, its drying patio and quickly imagine what the economic and social dynamics of the city of Caracas were like during the first years of the colony and how it has changed to the present day. .
Then that contrast of a colonial hacienda located in the heart of one of the most urban and modern places in Caracas, such as Altamira, surrounded by skyscrapers and glass towers.
For us it was ideal, since we were looking for some sun and fresh air, after spending several days locked up at home due to a strong flu that caught us all in the family, so there is nothing better than being outdoors to recharge our batteries and climb the defenses.

El día de ayer tuvo un giro mágico de último momento, ya que decidí pasar la tarde con mis dos pequeñas hijas en uno de mis lugares favoritos de toda la ciudad, las instalaciones de la Hacienda Santa Ana, fundada a finales del siglo XVIII, en la época colonial, dedicada principalmente al cultivo y secado de café.
Está ubicada en la zona de Altamira, específicamente en la urbanización La Floresta, y desde el año 1995 es sede del Centro de Arte PDVSA La Estancia.
La principal empresa petrolera estatal venezolana, encargada de la restauración y administración de este sitio, lo convirtió en su brazo para la promoción artística y cultural de nuestro país.
Es un verdadero oasis vegetal, de ambiente tranquilo y fresco, en la semana es un punto de encuentro para agrupaciones artísticas y talleres variados y los fines de cuenta con una activa programación cultural.
Quizás personalmente no lo frecuentamos tanto porque nos queda algo lejos de nuestra casa, y por lo general prefiero caminar por la zona, pero esta vez decidimos variar la ruta con mis niñas y en 20 minutos ya estábamos en ese increíble jardín.
Rodeados entre muchos árboles, extensas estepas de grama, y gallinas, patos y uno que otro pavo real caminando por todo el jardín, que parecen ser los verdaderos anfitriones del lugar. A mis niñas les pareció un detalle muy simpático y divertido.
El sitio en general se encuentra muy bien conservado, Es un ambiente muy relajado. Ideal para pasar una tarde fresca, con niños de cualquier edad, hay un área con un parque infantil, algo que como padre siempre sabré apreciar,
También es posible estar en las instalaciones de la vieja casa colonial, el patio interno, su patio de secado e imaginarse rápidamente como era la dinámica económica y social de la ciudad de Caracas durante los primeros años de la colonia y como ha cambiado hasta nuestros días.
Entonces ese contraste de hacienda colonial ubicado en el corazón de unos de los parajes más urbanos y modernos de Caracas, como lo es Altamira, rodeado de rascacielos y torres de cristal.
Para nosotros fue ideal, ya que buscábamos algo de sol y aire fresco, después de pasar varios días encerrados en casa por una fuerte gripe que nos atrapó a todos en la familia, así que nada mejor que estar al aire libre para recargar energías y subir las defensas.
Que lugar tan bonito, ideal para pasar un buen rato con tus niñas, que lástima que quede lejos de casa y que por eso no puedas ir con más frecuencia.
