Those of us who live in the tropics and enjoy photographs of the landscapes, always reserve in a special way a good place to wait patiently for those fleeting but vibrant 30 minutes of color celebration that the Star King gives us every afternoon in these latitudes.
Something that captivated me when visiting Montevideo in mid-October was its long spring days, where the sun begins to set at about 5 in the afternoon until it finally gets dark around 9 p.m. This for me was a real surprise, sitting on the rambla on the banks of the Río de la Plata to watch the sunset was a real pleasure in slow motion.
Personally, I do not believe in geographical determinism in the sociological sense, but I certainly believe that there are environmental characteristics that influence the image of a people so remarkably that they become true symbols of identity. It seems to me that this is the case of the blue of the sky subtly colored by the sun of those southern lands, both elements present in the flags of Uruguay and Argentina.

Los que vivimos en el trópico y disfrutamos de fotografías del paisajes, siempre reservamos de manera especial un buen lugar para esperar pacientemente esos fugaces pero vibrantes 30 minutos de fiesta cromática que nos regala todas las tarde el astro rey por estas latitudes.Algo que me cautivó al visitar Montevideo a mediados de octubre, fueron sus largos días primaverales, donde el sol se comienza a poner como a las 5 de la tarde hasta por fin oscurecer alrededor de las 9 p.m. Esto para mi fue una verdadera sorpresa, sentarme en la rambla a orillas del Río de la Plata a mirar el atardecer fue un verdadero placer en cámara lenta.
Personalmente no creo en determinismos geográficos en el sentido sociológico, pero sin duda creo que hay características ambientales que influyen tan notablemente en la imagen de un pueblo que se vuelven verdaderos símbolos identitarios. Me parece que ese es el caso del azul del cielo sutilmente coloreado por el sol de esas tierras australes, ambos elementos presentes en las banderas de Uruguay y Argentina.

Que maravilloso! no sabia que un ocaso podía ser tan largo.
Hay características ambientales como el viento, o la geografía montañosa o de sabana que influye en nuestra forma de hablar: que tan abierto modulan las personas en la costa del caribe, o por qué las personas en los andes hablan con los labios un poco más cerrados. Para mí, este es un tema fascinante, y tu foto y especialmente tu artículo lo enriquecen.
