Stone Golem presentation

In this weekly challenge Super Star is Stone Golem! Card, which have decent hp and melee damage! Stone Golem mainly is used for first tank. Can deal good damage, when attack and have chance to stun target. He is really powerful monster for only 5 mana. Have great stats, but is really slow, but in specific game rules I mean in reversal speed rule this is really monster you not want to meet face to face. I share battle, when I used him in gold league with 6 level.

image.png

This is rare card from alpha/beta edition. Can be only used with earth element. Of course can be played with dragon summoner too, but only when green cards are allowed to play. This is really powerful card from level 1, because on level 1 have ability shield, which reduce incoming damage from melee monsters by half.
At level 5 he getting his mainly ability - stun. I like to use him with many rules eg. only attack damage monsters can be used, reversal speed rule, all monsters have sneak ability, all monsters have opportunity, for rule with odd cards only. Card for 5 mana make him very flexible in use for all mana cap during battle. Even for 99 mana rule is still playable, because of his stun. Great card, which you should use in your Splinterlands battle in specific rules!

SplinterLore:

STONE GOLEM
The Stone Golems that reside around the Crags of Maglar are quite terrifying to any stranger who wanders into their domain. In spite of the sheer power and weight of them, these Golems are surprisingly gentle and peaceful. A good day for a Stone Golem is one in which he did a lot of heavy lifting.

For what I like Stone Golem?

I am really happy, that in this week I can talk about this monster, which I really like.

I like Stone Golems for being peaceful monsters, which living with harmony with nature. Golems have large size, but they are not aggresive in their natural ecosystem. Can look like really dangerous monster, but will not attack you if you will not try ruin his peace. Is similar to me as a person, because I trying to to be calm and be friendly to people. I fight only when I must, but I don't like do that like him.

Battle strategy with Stone Golem

Now you know any lore and battle aspect, so we can go to the main point - share your battle!

Monsters in Splinterlands are used in battles, so I show you my strategy and why I pick him during this battle.

All my strategy and line up I will describe below.

My team

Summoner Camile

image.png

Summoner for 3 mana.
Camile cast debuff to all enemy monsters -1 melee attack.

Failed Summoner

image.png

image.png

First position monster in this battle. Card for only 2 mana with melee attack -1 debuff and reflect all magic attack to attacker. Really powerful card with so many hit points.

Stone Golem

image.png

image.png

Super Star of Weekly Challange! Stone Golem! NOISE FOR HIM!

In this battle I used Stone golem in second position as secondary tank. Why? Because there was sneak rule, where monsters can attack last enemy monsters from any position. Stone Golem have stun, so I don't want stun tank, but I want stun last enemy monster.

Mushroom Seer

image.png

image.png

Monster used in third position. Just in case I would say. When I play with Stone Golem I really so badly want him to be ALIVE! Yeah that's what I am saying. If my enemy will have strategy to play with magic monsters instead of using attack damage monster, then my Stone Golem will be so fragly. We don't want Golem to be fragly. We want him to stay alive in his peaceful life. You want our Golem to chill during battle in the forest with his friend mushroom. That's AMAZING nature synergy trust me.

Wood Nymph

image.png

image.png

Healer Monster used in fourth position. You never know when healing will be needed and of couse some ability damage. What, if my enemy decided to play with only attack damage monsters without magic resist? Then we will have great front lane with ambulance on the backline with decent ability damage with hp buff for each monster. Bro that's dope!

Creeping Ooze

image.png

image.png

Monster used in fifth position in the battle. Just to slow enemy monsters. Slower monster have less chance to hit our monsters, so all should be fine. Unfortunately I have him only on first level, but it doesn't matter at all, because will stay alive for longer, when will not attack monster with thorns!

Biceratops

image.png

image.png

Monster used in last position just in case of any powerful fragile monster, which attack last attack. Thorns of course are really useful, because return damage back to attacker. With 3 defense have like 8 hp, so can stand really many attacks!

That was my lineup now is the time to show you my opponent team!

Enemy Team

Summoner Mylor Crowling

image.png

Summoner for 3 mana with powerful thorns, which return damage to attacker. Anytime a friendly monster get hit by melee attack, attacker gets back 2 damage, when is without shield ability or 1 damage to monster with a shield. All friendly monsters get thorns at start of first round with that summoner.

Chain Golem

image.png

image.png

Monster used in first position as main tank. This card is for 8 mana can tank attack or ability damage so well. Is kinda slow, but have additional defense. Played in gold league don't have stun. My enemy decided to have powerful damage dealer with percing damage at first position.

Brownie

image.png

image.png

Really good monster for 1 mana used as secondary tank in this battle. Cast two buffs for speed and attack damage +1. With rule sneak can attack from second position.

Screeching Vulture

image.png

image.png

A flying monster used in third position. He have really nice ability scavenger, which adds him 1 hp, everytime any monsters die during battle, which make him tanky in mid and late game. Can attack vulnerable targets with his opporunity. Really dangerous monster, but I played with Camile, so he lost 1 attack damage and was not that dangerous.

Tower Griffin

image.png

image.png

A flying monster used in fourth position. His main role in matchups, when played with Mylor summoner is to tank friendly monsters with proctect buff. 2 additional armor at start of first round, when you play against attack damage monster is really useful ability, which can be gamechanger.

Khmer Princess

image.png

image.png

Support monster used in fifth position at backline. Her main role in matchups is to heal friendly monster in first position. In diamond league, when have bigger level can heal too backline monsters. Really usefull healer in team. Is not easy to kill her, because have buff from Griffin and is covered from last position by earth elemental, which have his own heal.

Earth Elemental

image.png

image.png

Monster used in last position as backline tank. This card is only for 3 mana, have so many hp, really good ranged damage and of course is protected by thorns from Mylor summoner buff. Really good choice.

Game Rules

Let's start from game rules.

image.png

Rule 1

Super Sneak

image.png

First rule, was a game changer in my strategy. I decided to use Stone Golem in second position instead of first position. That rule allow my Golem and Biceratops to attack with stun last enemy monster.

Rule 2

Stampede

image.png

Not a single monster can use this rule, so me and my enemy avoided that rule. This rule can be really useful, but not this battle.

Mana cap

image.png

This is average mana cap, which almost always allow you to use full team in battle. Me and my opponent we played with full team composed of 6 monsters.

Colors active in this battle

There were able to play only 2 colors. Earth and Dragon element.
I decided to play with Dragon Summoner and my enemy want to play with Earth Summoner. It's funny, because I didn't use any dragon monster in this battle, but I played with Camile only for her melee debuff.

My strategy

My strategy was really simple. I used Failed summoner as first tank, because I want use all my attacking monsters for specific target. Golem and Biceratops for last enemy backline monster and wood nymph with mushroom seer for attacking main tank. Poison from Mushroom really help with taking off powerful tank. I used Camile with Failed Summoner debuff. So both reduced melee damage by 2. Playing mainly versus ad monsters is really powerful tactic. Mushroom was played to reduce their magic damage to protect my first main tank and secondary tank from huge ap damage. I had monster with speed debuff, which helps my golem to attack monsters and apply his stun. In super sneak rule I predicted that there can be monster, which will be trying to kill my last position monster, so I decided to put monster with a thorns just in case.

Battle time - Clash of Summoners!

Ok, so now you know, which monsters were used in this battle. Now is time to prove, which strategy with these powerful monsters was better!

Battleground without buffs and debuffs

image.png

Round 1 with all buffs and debuffs from monsters and summoners

image.png

Description of the fight!

First round last for 25 turns. I had relative slow monsters, so attack goes from Brownie, which get damage from Biceratops thorns and lost his griffin armor buff. Then vulture too attack Biceratops and lost his armor due thorns of Biceratops. Then Griffin and Kmer Princess deal 1 damage each to Failed Summoner. My Failed Summoner return 1 ability damage to Khmer Princess. Next Mushroom Seer used his ability attack on Chain Golem and applied his poison on him and deal 2 hp with magic attack. My Healer heals my Failed summoner to full hp and deal 1 damage to Chain Golem. Then Earth Elemental hits my Failed Summoner for 3 damage and later Chain Golem attacks my Failed summoner for 3 damage too. In next turn my Stone Golem attacks Earth Elemental for 2 damage and applied stun on him. Which means that for 1 turn he will be not able to attack and heal himself. Stome Golem get 1 damage from thorns reduced by his shield and then Biceratops attacks Earth elemental for 3 damage. and received 1 damage for his armor.

image.png

Round 2

Second round started from poison, which deal 2 damage to Chain Golem. Now Chain Golem have only 3 hp and in next turn attacks brownie for 1 damage Briceratops, and dies, when get thorn damage. Enemy teams lost speed and inspire buff. Then attacks vulture Biceratops for 1 damage and get back 2 damage from thorns. Vulture have only 2 hp now. In next turn attack Mushroom for 2 damage and Wood Nymp for 1 damage Chain Golem, which dies.
Now vulture is main tank. Griffin attack Failed Summoner for 1 and Khmer Princess heals Vulture to full hp and attack for 1 Failed Summoner and gets 1 magic damage back. Earth elemental is unstuned, but can't attack. Stone Golem attack one more time with Stun and Earth Elemental still can't use heal in next round and have only 1 hp now. My Golem gets 1 damage from thorns and my Biceratops finished Earth Elemental and gets in return 2 damage in thorns. Round finished with scavenger ability on Vulture, which have now 6 total hp.

image.png

Round 3

Third round started with my 6 monsters and enemy only 3 monsters. Vulture attacks first for 1 damage my Failed Summoner and then gets 3 damage from my Mushroom. My healer heals my Failed summoner and hits vulture for 2 damage. Vulture have only 1 hp and can tank only 1 damage. Then Griffin attacks for 1 and Khmer Princess too attack for 1 my tank and heals Vulture for 2 hp. Now Vulture have 3 hp. khmer get 1 damage back from reflect magic damage ability and loses her 2 armor, when get hitted by Stone golem. Thorns reduces 1 armor from my Stone Golem and then Biceratops finished with powerful attack Khmer Princess. He dies during 2 damage from thorns and now my backline monster is Creeping Ooze. vulture gets +2hp, because Khmer and Biceratops are dead. Then

image.png

Round 4

Round fourth starts with my 5 monsters versus only 2 monsters of my enemy. Vulture attacks for 1 and then dies by combo attack of Mushroom and Wood Nymph for 5 hp. Griffin is now main tank, but can't attack.

image.png

Round 5

Last Round is really quick, because start from combo Mushroom with Nymph for 5 damage, which is enough to kill Griffin.

image.png

Did my strategy work?

image.png

I won the battle and I am happy of that fact. I was good prepared for anything which could happen during battle. My strategy work perfectly! I lost only my Biceratops during this battle and rest of my team almost didn't get damaged. My Stone Golem can now enjoy his peaceful life somewhere in the Splinterlands world.
