I think we are on the right track to get rid of this annoying virus worldwide. After this weekend, the measures are likely to be eased in some countries.
However, it will probably take a few more weeks or even months until we can see such pictures like these again.
What´s your preferred seat on a plane? Are you more the aisle person or the window person? I guess nobody likes to be the one in the middle! :)
Izmir, Turkey
This is the town of Izmir on the turkish aegean coast shortly after take-off. I was visiting my parents in law and took this shot on the way home.
In ancient times the city was founded by the Greeks Smyrna. It was taken over by the Romans and rebuilt by Alexander the Great before it became part of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century.
Today it is a key point for thousands of travelers from around the world who want to visit the turkish aegean coast. With around 4.3 million inhabitants, it is also the third largest city in Turkey
Sydney, Australia
Some people pay a lot of money to have a scenic flight over Sydney. But why pay so much money if you can have it way cheaper?
This shot was from our flight from Sydney to the Gold Coast. After the take-off the pilot turned and flew directly over the city with a almost perfect view of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the whole CBD
Actually I am always sitting at the aisle, at least on long-haul flights, this time luckily I was sitting by the window. An experience I won´t forget that quickly.
Phuket, Thailand
Landing approach to phuket in thailand is something you will never forget. Provided you have a place at the window.
All these off-shore islands in the beautiful andaman sea make you want to jump straight out of the plane.
But it would be safer if you stay seated until you land, because this is the only way to explore this island on your dream vacation up close.
We would actually go there again in a few weeks to relax for a month, but unfortunately our flights were canceled thanks to the virus.
