David "Meggs" Hooke is an Australian artist who started out in street art and from there made the leap to galleries. Without ever abandoning his origins in graffiti, the skateboarding community and heavy metal, he has managed to gain great recognition for his peculiar style based on the mixture of stencils and graffiti inspired by characters from the world of comics and pop culture.

In his work you can find references to Spiderman and Captain America, as well as Astroboy and Tom & Jerry, in almost all his work that ranges from posters and skateboards, to medium and large format murals, both in galleries and in the walls of the streets of his native Australia.

Over the years, his work has become international, both alone and in collaborations with other artists, which has allowed him to have works in London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
