It all started three days ago, yes, just three days and I already have a mound on my head the size of an egg, and another one is coming out on the opposite side; so I have a big one on the right and another one growing on the left.

Of course, I had heard since I was a little boy that men could grow horns on their heads; it was hard to imagine horny men like bulls, but I heard that at home, at school and everywhere; so it had to be true.

Then when I became an adult and began to move through the affairs of love, I understood that it was a metaphor; we got horny when our wife secretly had sex with another man and we were ignorant of the situation. Later I learned that to be a cabrón-here in my country-is to have horns and to know why we have them. In the same way, I discovered that men with this situation abound or abound, without any tragic thing to regret.

Ten days have passed and the egg on the right has the clear shape of a horn, the one on the left is taking the same characteristic. Until now the hat covered my horns, but I can hardly hide them anymore, so I decided to go to the hospital and get myself seen by a doctor.

When the doctor saw and touched the horns for the first time, he said "hey, my friend, don't worry, you would be surprised that this is not the first one I have seen"; I asked him, "of course" the doctor said, picking up the phone. While he was calling his colleagues, he finished explaining: "I have seen them many times, but in movies, "comics"; supplements, you know".

At that moment, several doctors arrived almost in droves. The doctor proudly said, "colleagues, comrades, here we have a truly exceptional case! taking my head, he turned it several times- "observe well, two horns, two hard horns!", he touched with force- "big ones- he took a meter and measured them- "and they are curving like any bull or ox". There was laughter from those present - my face turned red with embarrassment and anger. I tried to get up from the stretcher to leave, the doctor stopped me "not so fast comrade, excuse the laughter of my colleagues, it is of pure nerves, we are all delighted; that is to say astonished as you are of such a phenomenon and we want to study it thoroughly, get the cause and of course cure it of such a striking disease- where there was laughter and disguised grimaces-.

After a good hour, the doctors had concluded that I should be hospitalized urgently to find out what was the reason for such a strange situation. Then a beautiful nurse approached me and caressed my cheeks and placed a hypodermic with sedatives in my arm.

I have been in the hospital for six days now, I am certainly receiving pretty good care; I have coffee always in the morning, radio, television; Internet, and the nurses are vying for my care.

It didn't take long for the news to spread that the hospital had "there's a man with real chunks," and I think I went sort of "viral" in that healthcare facility for a long time.

I was inward six; nurses, bionalists, interns; the orderlies and porters, they were peeking in to see the man with horns. Later I found out that they came to sell numbers to queue up and look through the window of the room, the "horned" man.

Specialists have come from all parts of the country and they are expecting the arrival of German and French doctors; a wise man from the East - I learned later - I don't know if he came from India or some other distant part of those parts, but he also made a note of his visit.

I have been in the hospital for three months now, the horns have stopped growing and are now shedding the fluff they were born with, they are, so to speak, getting "polished". They are shining like new billiard balls and are getting sharper at the tips.

The girls - the nurses - are the friendliest ones, cleaning them and playing with them. They invented a game with the orderlies "Shooting at the horns"; it's about throwing some kind of hoops made with "hoses" of those they put on us when we are dehydrated. The game is like this: They are distanced about five meters from my stretcher. If a stretcher bearer throws and hits both horns, he takes a nurse to the bathroom; if a nurse is the one who strings the hoops, she takes the nurse of her choice to the bathroom; in other words, a nurse always goes to the bathroom with the winner.

They also played cards and had a party or two. My room sometimes looked like a permanent carnival. Over time instead of getting better I lost my appetite, I didn't sleep, and every time I tried to read a good book, a new theory came up and then exams came and exams went.

One morning, taking advantage of the fact that everyone: nurses, orderlies, doctors and cleaners, were asleep from drunkenness, the result of one of the many binges already described, I took a saw from the medical equipment, slipped into the bathroom and as best I could, I cut the brand new horns. I sweated and it hurt like hell, but I did it. Then I got some nail sandpaper from the nurses' purses, and with it, I trimmed off the little pieces of horns that were left until they were even.

Looking at myself in the mirror, I noticed that almost nothing was noticeable on my head. I took a pair of pants from one of the shortest doctors, a shirt and, with a pair of shoes on my feet, I left the hospital, as if nothing had happened, radiant and happy.

I walked home, took the essentials and moved to another city.

I've been living for a year and a half in a small town, which I obviously shouldn't name. I got a more or less pleasant job, I rent a big room and I have a new girlfriend. It is also clear that I changed my name and surname.

Some time has passed and I have finally managed to take the normal rhythm of my existence. With Carmen-my new girlfriend-I go to the movies from time to time. Some nights we stay in the room, eat, drink some liquor and make love; and other times we read and comment on authors and books.

Today-twelve long years ago-I am a man like any other, except that every morning I have to be careful to sand my blessed cranial peduncles so that my two children don't go around the school saying that their father has chunks in his head...

The next story may possibly be inscribed in one of the series already traveled (Encounters and Silhouettes or The Route of the Yare). Or in this humorous side; always hoping they can fulfill the task of recreating your sight and intellect. See you soon.
