Hello, Hive musicians. The bass is an indispensable instrument for any group or orchestra, also in my blog is always dedicated to know this instrument with post to know the greatest bass players and covers of many songs on bass; but in this second semester that begins this June opens a segment to talk about the rockstar of the group "The Guitarists" who are always, after the vocalist, the best known and followed by the public. That's why this segment will always be dedicated to the guitarists. An image, a style, a trend, a concept, are some of the terms used to help define one of the most beloved and iconic guitarists in history, this is "Slash", known for being the lead guitarist of the Gunners and the creator of other projects such as "Velvet Revolver".

El bajo es un instrumento indispensable para cualquier grupo u orquesta, además dentro de mi blog está siempre dedicado a conocer este instrumento con post para conocer a los más grandes bajistas y covers de muchas canciones en el bajo; pero en este segundo semestre que empieza este mes de junio se abre un segmento para hablar del rockstar del grupo “Los Guitarristas” que siempre son, después del vocalista, los más conocidos y seguidos por el público. Es por esto que se este segmento estará siempre dedicado a los guitarristas. Una imagen, un estilo, una tendencia, un concepto, son algunos de los términos usados para ayudar a definir a uno de los guitarristas más queridos e icónicos de la historia, este es “Slash”, conocido por ser el guitarrista principal de los Gunners y el creador de otros proyectos como “Velvet Revolver”.
MUSICAL HISTORY
Saul Hudson or as he is known worldwide "Slash" is a guitarist born in the United Kingdom in 1965, (yes, Slash is British) but at an early age he moved to Los Angeles - United States, motivated by a search for better opportunities by his mother, in addition to the bad relationship with his father. Slash is known to be a very rebellious young man but with a powerful discipline with his guitar giving him little by little an amazing ability to play it and a style that made him unique. Slash started in the music world in the early 80's, joining projects that also included other future members of the incredible American band "Guns n'Roses". He was known for being very shy and as he gained fame he became known for his rebellious and uncontrolled character, typical of the rockstars of the time. When he started the career of the band "Guns n'Roses" he began an incredible rise and his iconic look immediately attracted attention and as a curious fact, it is said that this look was inspired by "Jimmy Page". Over the years he has carved an important path in music and has become an icon of the guitar and the use of Gipson guitars.
Saul Hudson o como es conocido mundialmente “Slash” es un guitarrista nacido en Reino unido en 1965, (si, Slash es Británico) pero a temprana edad se mudó a los Ángeles – Estados Unidos, motivado por una búsqueda de mejores oportunidades por parte de su madre, además por la mala relación con su padre. Se conoce a un joven slash muy rebelde pero con una disciplina poderosa con su guitarra dándole poco a poco una sorprendente habilidad para tocarla y un estilo que lo hizo único. Slash se inicia en el mundo de la música a principio de los 80, uniéndose a proyectos donde también se encontraban otros de los futuros integrantes de la increíble banda norteamericana “Guns n´Roses”. Él era conocido por ser muy tímido y al ir ganando fama se le conoció por su carácter rebelde y de mucho descontrol, típico de los rockstar de la época. Cuando inicia la carrera de la banda “Guns n´Roses” comienza un increíble ascenso y su icónico look llama la atención de manera inmediata y que como dato curioso, se dice que este look fue inspirado en “Jimmy Page”. Con los años se ha labrado un camino importante en la música y con ello se ha convertido en un ícono de la guitarra y del uso de las guitarras Gipson.
1. Techniques used by Slash.
Speed, skill and style, Slash has a very well defined playing technique in his solos, where he mixes pentatonic scales with some chords in sevenths and diminished, which is well used in songs like "Welcome to the Jungle". The palm mute, that this guitarist develops even when playing his solos is interesting, since like a tremolo he usually moves his hand and creates a very original effect of silence and chord.
Velocidad, habilidad y estilo, slash posee una de las técnicas para tocar muy bien definida en sus solos, donde mezcla escalas pentatónicas con algunos acordes en séptimas y disminuidas, cosa que se ve bien utilizadas en temas como “Welcome to the Jungle”. El palm mute, que este guitarrista desarrolla incluso al momento de hacer sus solos es interesante, dado que como un tremolo suele mover su mano y crear un efecto de silencio y acorde muy original.
