Muy buenos días, tardes o noches a mis lectores, dependiendo de que parte del planeta se encuentren. Hoy les traigo otra entrega de Crónicas de una Tiendita.
Good morning, afternoon, or evening to my readers, look for where you are on the planet. Today I bring you another installment of Chronicles of a Little Store.
A la tienda llegan muchas clientas y clientes, algunos son transitorios que llegan dejan su huella y luego no se ven más, y otros son recurrentes esas personas que asisten a cada momento y que se pueden escribir como cien historias de ellas. Éste es el caso de Emma, una clienta que permanentemente venía a la tienda a la hora del medio día luego de su almuerzo para conversar un rato conmigo y con mi empleada antes de regresar a una agitada rutina laboral, sin embargo si yo no estaba, generalmente me esperaba con cuentos y chismes (cosas de su oficina).
Many customers and clients come to the store, some are transients who leave their mark and then are no longer seen, and others are those people who attend every moment and can write about a hundred stories of them. This is the case of Emma, a customer who permanently came to the store at noon after her lunch to chat with me and my employee for a while before returning to a hectic work routine, however, if I didn't she was, usually waiting for me with tales and gossip (things from her office).
Un buen día y antes del almuerzo, llegó Emma a la tienda corriendo, estaba exaltada, supongo que por la caminata rápida, transpiraba un poco, sin embargo en su rostro solo se observaba una sutil brillantez entre las cejas y que baja por el tabique de la nariz. Al entrar a la tienda se despoja de los lentes e intenta secarse con muchísimo cuidado el sudor de la zona de los lagrimales y cerca de la parte inferior de los ojos.
One good day and before lunch, Emma came to the store running, she was elated, I suppose that due to the fast walk, she perspired a little, however on her face there was only a subtle brilliance between the eyebrows and that she descends through of the nose. Upon entering the store, she strips off his glasses and tries to very carefully wipe the sweat from the torn area and near the bottom of her eyes.
—Muy buenos días señor ¿cómo se encuentra?, me saluda con una voz jadeante.
—Good morning, sir. How are you feeling? She greets me in a gasping voice.
—Excelente señorita ¿y usted? ¿Qué hace por aquí tan temprano? ¿De quién viene huyendo?
—Excellent miss, what about you? What are you doing here so early? Who are you running away from?
—Vengo solo unos minutos porque no soporto hoy la oficina, esos jefes míos son inmamables (termino coloquial que se usa para describir a alguien que es realmente insoportable).
—I come only a few minutes because I can't stand the office today, those bosses of mine are Inmamables (a colloquial term used to describe someone who is unbearable).
— ¿Qué pasó mujer? Cuéntame.
—What happened woman? Tell me.
—Mi jefe directo me pide un informe con ciertas características y me dijo que se lo entregue a él antes que a Juan el Director General de la empresa. Él nunca llega antes que Juan, nunca. Pues hoy Juan necesitaba el informe urgente y me lo pidió, yo para hacer tiempo le dije lo reviso y lo llevo a su oficina, esperé como media hora, pero entró Juan a mi oficina vio el informe en el escritorio lo tomó y se lo llevó. Cuando llegó Pablo entró corriendo me pidió el informe y le dije que se lo llevó Juan y comenzó a gritar que él era el jefe. Yo, sin dudar, me paré, tomé las llaves y me vine.
—My direct boss asks me for a report with certain characteristics and he told me to deliver it to him before Juan the CEO of the company. He never comes before Juan, never. Well today Juan needed the urgent report and he asked me, to make the time I told him I would review it and take it to his office, I waited about half an hour, but Juan came into my office he saw the report on the desk he took it and took it. —Pues sí, ahí debe estar parado como un tonto, lo único que se me ocurrió fue venir a la tienda a pasar el rato y la rabia.

— ¿Lo dejaste solo en la oficina? ¡Solo!, le pregunté

Entre tanto, Rosaura la empleada de la tienda, le dice, —así son los jefes, no te preocupes, y me ve con una sonrisa en la cara.

La interrumpo y le digo —Llegaste al sitio, yo sé interpretar los sueños, soy una especie de vidente de los sueños.

Ella, inclina su cabeza y me observa con cierto escepticismo, se coloca los lentes como para mirarme mejor a ver si le estaba diciendo la verdad.

— ¿Por qué me miras así? Yo soy un brujo, leo la mano, la borra del café e interpreto los sueños, ¿hay algo de malo en eso? Le dije con un tono pícaro, para generarle más dudas, —aparte también leo las cartas de tarot, completé el comentario.

—A ver, te voy a contar el sueño para que me digas qué me va a pasar, ¿te parece? Eso sí, no te burles de mí que yo me lo creo todo, me aclara con ciertas dudas.

Comienza el relato de su sueño, —estaba en una casa cuando de repente vi a un águila volando hacia mí y al verla comienzo a correr, ella me seguía y yo continuaba corriendo, hasta llegar a la puerta que era de vidrio, entro y la cierro, dejando el águila afuera, termina de contar su sueño y coloca fijamente sus ojos resguardados por los anteojos sobre mi rostro, esperando que le revelara el futuro, seguía parada e incrédula.
The story of her dream begins, —I was in a house when suddenly I saw an eagle flying towards me and when I saw her I started to run, she followed me and I kept running until I reached the door that was made of glass, I enter and the I close, leaving the eagle outside, she finishes telling her dream and fixes her eyes sheltered by the glasses on my face, waiting for me to reveal the future, she was still standing and incredulous.
Yo, solo la observaba y trataba de buscar en mi mente cual pudiera ser la interpretación correcta de su sueño, pasaron algunos segundos. — ¿Sabes algo? —, le pregunté, pero sin dejarla responder seguí mi comentario, —te van a promover de cargo, vas a tener más responsabilidades y vas a ganar más dinero, sin embargo, no vas a durar mucho tiempo ahí vas a renunciar, terminé de hablar y solo escucho la risa de Emma que retumba por toda la tienda.
I just watched her and tried to search my mind for the correct interpretation of her dream, a few seconds passed. —Know something? —Tú estás loco ¿cómo puede ser posible eso? Acabo de dejar a mi jefe parado en mi oficina como un tonto y me vine, me debe odiar, seguro llego y me botan; termina de hablar, pero se sigue riendo.

—Bueno, eso te debe pasar en los próximos siete días, si no ocurre, el sueño no se cumplió—, le dije. —Pero si se da, me tienes que brindar un helado para celebrar el acierto y el ascenso ¿estás de acuerdo? Le pregunté.

Pasaron dos días sin saber de Emma, raro, porque siempre tomábamos un cafecito en la tarde, ya se me había olvidado el cuento del sueño pero Rosaura se encargó de recordármelo, —seguro no quiere pagar los helados por la interpretación del sueño, me manifestó en una voz muy cínica, puesto que ese día el gobierno decretó un aumento de salario mínimo.
Two days passed without knowing Emma, strange because we always had a coffee in the afternoon, I had already forgotten the story of the dream but Rosaura was in charge of reminding me, —surely she does not want to pay the ice creams for the interpretation of the dream, she told me in a very cynical voice since that day the government decreed an increase in the minimum wage.
—No, seguro tiene mucho trabajo, recuerda que dijo que el jefe le urgía un informe y ella lo debe estar corrigiendo. Le aclaré a Rosaura.

El jueves se presenta en la tienda Emma con su café en la mano, algo molesta, no sé si con el jefe, conmigo, con el gobierno, la vida, simplemente estaba enfadada, —eso no se vale, el aumento que me dieron, no cubre un helado, esa interpretación está mal, me indica con gestos corporales relativamente agresivos acompañados de una voz firme, dura pero sin entrar en conflicto ni falta de respeto.

Un momento de silencio consagró la escena, supongo que todos estábamos esperando que sucediera que le subieran el sueldo que tuviera un mejor cargo; pero lo místico suele ser así, impredecible. Ella se despide al salir de la tienda le indiqué —Mañana nos tomamos un café Emma, eso sí, no en la tienda, nos vamos en Martinas, un sitio cerca de la tienda al cual vamos periódicamente, lo dije de forma enfática para no dejar opción a una negativa, ella voltea y con una sonrisa en la cara asienta con la cabeza.

Al día siguiente cerca de las 12 esperaba en Martinas a Emma, ella se demoraba un poco y pasada media hora aún no llegaba, yo entre tanto hablaba con Alvaro el encargado del local y pasado mucho tiempo, me dispuse a regresar a mi tienda cuando la veo que se acerca, entra y me da un abrazo y un beso en la mejilla, y sin mediar palabra me dice —Disculpa la demora, no fue mi intención pero el jefe se va de viaje y necesitaba el informe, cuando fui a entregar el documento, me promovió de cargo a uno de mayor responsabilidad y voy a ganar el doble, no lo puedo creer eres un brujo, continuó su explicación. El brillo en sus ojos era impresionante y la emoción indescriptible.

—Viste, te lo dije, te lo dije, te lo dije—, reiteré en varias ocasiones para que ella lo escuchara, pero sobre todo para poder creerlo, estaba muy feliz e impresionado, pero era difícil de creer. No quería arruinar la efervescencia del momento, pero interrumpo la algarabía y le dijo —Ya va, un momento, falta algo ¿cuándo renuncias?— Sin esperar su respuesta, le digo ningún sueño se da solo la mitad, recuerda lo que te voy a decir, tú te vas de ese trabajo.
