Hay muchas sustancias que como adultos sabemos que dañan nuestra salud o nos pueden causar la muerte, entre estas tenemos el alchohol, el cigarrillo, los fármacos de venta controlada y las sustancias alucinógenas. Cuando les preguntas a los consumidores de estos productos si saben el riesgo que corren al consumirlas te dicen que sí y que están concientes de las consecuencias pero que no importa mucho.
Quizá alguno de los que me están leyendo son consumidores de algunas de las sustancias mencionadas a lo cual les pregunto ¿Se las darías a tus hijos? Y este es el dilema que hoy viven miles de padres que tienen que decidir si vacunar o no a sus hijos contra el Covid-19 frente a las medidas sanitarias que están tomando algunos países. Son padres que se han vacunado con el esquema completo de dosis pero dudan al momento de hacerlo con sus hijos a pesar de no haber tenido efectos secundarios. Es paradógico, ya que como padres queremos lo mejor para nuestros hijos y tomar las mejores decisiones para jamás causarles daño.
There are many substances that we as adults know as harmful to our health or can cause death. These could be alcohol, cigarettes, controlled sale drugs, and hallucinogenic substances. When you ask the consumers of these products if they know the risk they run by consuming them, say yes and that they are aware of the consequences but that it does not matter much.
Perhaps some of you who are reading this are consumers of some of the substances mentioned, to which I ask you Would you give them to your children? And this is the dilemma that thousands of parents live today, who have to decide whether or not to vaccinate their children against Covid-19 in the face of the sanitary measures that some countries are taking. They are parents who have been vaccinated with the full schedule of doses but hesitate to do so with their children even though they have had no side effects. It is paradoxical since as parents we want the best for our children and makes the best decisions to never cause them harm.
Muchos adultos dicen que no importa que "experimenten con ellos" pero con sus hijos no, por esto quiero detallar algunas cosas que me parecen importantes a la hora de decidir si vacunar o no contra el Covid-19 a sus hijos.
Lo primero que debemos saber es que existen tres tipos de vacunas, unas de virus vivos, otras de virus atenuados y otras de virus inactivados (muertos), estas últimas poseen un antígeno que imita al virus y así estimula al sistema inmunológico a generar inmunidad. Este es el caso de las vacunas para el Covid-19, incluyendo la Sputnik V y la Sinopharm. Por tanto vacunarse con estos inmunizadores no significa la inoculación del virus en tu cuerpo.
Many people say that it does not matter if they "experiment with them" but not with their children, so I want to detail some things that I think are important when deciding whether or not to vaccinate your children against Covid-19.
The first thing to know is that there are three types of vaccines: live virus vaccines, attenuated virus vaccines, an inactivated (killed) virus vaccines the latter have an antigen that mimics the virus and thus stimulates the immune system to generate immunity. It is the case of the Covid-19 vaccines, including Sputnik V and Sinopharm. Therefore, vaccination with these immunizers does not mean inoculation of the virus into your body.
Por otra parte si bien es cierto que la población a contagiarse y sufrir las complicaciones más severas del Covid-19 son los adultos mayores de 60 años, los a niños y adolescentes pueden sufrirlos, por supuesto en un porcentaje mínimo. En el supuesto que la mayoría de la población adulta esté vacunada, el virus al no tener un huésped que le permita replicarse libremente, es decir que no posea anticuerpos que lo combatan, tratará de atacar a la población sin protección imunitaria, en este caso los niños y adolescentes. Incluso para vencer la protección inmunológica de los adultos, el virus inevitablemente mutará a formas más agresivas con síntomas y consecuencias tal vez más severas para los niños.
On the other hand, although, indeed, the population to be infected and to suffer the most severe complications of Covid-19 are adults over 60 years of age, children and adolescents can suffer them, of course in a minimum percentage. Assuming that the majority of the adult population is vaccinated, the virus, not having a host that allows it to replicate freely, i.e. not having antibodies to fight it, will try to attack the population without immune protection, in this case, children and adolescents. Even to overcome the immune protection of adults, the virus will inevitably mutate into more aggressive forms with symptoms and consequences that may be more severe for children.
En el caso de latinoamérica desde el mes de Junio de 2021 se ha empezado con la vacunación de niños y adolescentes siendo Chile y Argentina referentes con respecto a la utilización de las vacunas Sinopharm sin efectos secundarios. En el caso de Venezuela la vacunación de niños y adolescentes empezó desde el 25 de Octubre de este año en curso con la vacuna Sinopharm, con la clara intención no solo de proteger a este grupo de la población si no también con el inminente regreso a clases presenciales.
In the case of Latin America, the vaccination of children and adolescents has started since June 2021, with Chile and Argentina being referents concerning the use of Sinopharm vaccines without side effects. In the case of Venezuela, the vaccination of children and adolescents began on October 25th with the Sinopharm vaccine, with the clear intention not only to protect this group of the population but also with the imminent return to classes.
Las diferentes academias de las ciencias venezolanas como la Sociedad Venezolana de Puericultura y Pediatría, Sociedad Venezolana de Infectología y la Academia Nacional de Medicina han debatido respecto a la seguridad de vacunar a los niños y adolescentes, llegando a la conclusión de apoyar y recomendar la vacunación de este grupo etario siempre y cuando sea con la vacuna Sinopharm. De las vacunas Abdalá y Soberana 2, estos especialistas indican que no tienen estudios ni referencias de investigaciones serias, así que no emiten recomendación alguna sobre éstas.

The different Venezuelan academies of sciences such as the Venezuelan Society of Childhood and Pediatrics, the Venezuelan Society of Infectious Diseases, and the National Academy of Medicine have debated on the safety of vaccinating children and adolescents, concluding supporting and recommending the vaccination of this age group as long as it is with the Sinopharm vaccine. Amiga un post bastante interesante, pues soy madre de tres niños, a pesar de leer los artículos referentes a la vacuna covid-19 y buscar información confiable que me oriente aun siento desconfianza en estas vacunas. Realmente me vacune porque es un requisito que me piden en mi trabajo y así para muchas cosas mas como viajar,el colegio de mis hijos y otros lugares, esto según nos inmuniza pero no nos garantiza que estemos libres del contagio.
Es una decisión difícil que debo tomar con respecto a vacunar o no a mis hijos, como tu lo mencionas queremos lo mejor para ellos.
