Hola grandiosa comunidad. Hoy quiero compartirles una vivencia más. Esta vez, sobre lo que me ayudó a interesarme por estudiar inglés, un idioma que pensé que no era tan necesario como muchos pensaban, pero que ahora me ha ayudado a en mi carrera de periodista. Y es que en la secundaria siempre fui resaltante en todas las asignaturas pero los números, el inglés y yo realmente no fuimos buenos amigos. Solía esforzarme para poder sacar buenas notas en las asignaturas mencionadas.
Al culminar el bachillerato, no dude en estudiar Comunicación Social. Es mi pasión, mi estilo de vida realmente. Además ¡No vería números en el curso! Ya era ganadora por esa parte y el inglés se asomaría un poco, así que era en ese momento mi mejor elección para estudiar. Hasta ahora no me equivoqué de sendero.
Un día durante una clase de los primeros semestres, vería Ingles I. Al inicio la profesora asignó un examen básico para notar el nivel de conocimiento de los alumnos, y la verdad no respondí casi nada, huía del inglés, no tenía mucho conocimiento ¡ni básico! Posteriormente llegó un segundo examen, parecido al primero. No sabía por dónde empezar y entregué la prueba en blanco.
La profesora al ver mi desinterés en la asignatura me preguntó delante de toda la clase sobre el porqué de mi poco ánimo por aprender inglés. Le respondí que no había nacido para eso, porque lo mío era la escritura en español. Dije, además, que estudiar otro idioma era para los turistas. Todos se rieron pensando que era un broma ¡Imagínense qué horror! Lo había dicho en serio, pero todos lo tomaron como una burla. Aun recuerdo como mi piel se ponía roja como un tomate.
La profesora, con una sonrisa ligera, me invitó a la pizarra. Me sucedió un pedazo de su tiza, y me dijo que escribiera sus palabras. Yo lo hice, temblando como una gelatina. Escuché su pronunciación en inglés, Palabra por palabra, y escribía en el pizarrón sin saber si lo estaba haciendo bien. Cuando terminé, ella corrigió algunos errores en la frase. Luego la miramos juntas, decía:
El idioma es una barrera, si la rompemos, la sociedad se sentirá más unida.
Aquella frase movió mis sentidos. Claro que la profesora me hizo recapacitar. No era que no entendía el inglés, sino que yo misma era mi propio problema. Desde ese día me comprometí más con la asignatura. Estudié cada palabra, cada verbo, cada sinónimo y sustantivo en inglés. Mis notas fueron mejorando, y logré aprobar el curso.
Hay ocasiones cuando nos desinteresamos por algo simplemente por no conocerlo bien. Yo pensaba que el inglés era innecesario, pues vivo en un país donde el idioma dominante es el español. ¡Qué equivocada estada! Ahora sé que el la lengua inglesa en muy fundamental, pues es uno de los idiomas más universalizados en los tiempos de hoy. Le agradezco mucho a la profesora que abrió mis ojos, y que me ayudó a aprender un lenguaje distinto a español.
Nunca abandones algo porque simplemente crees que no te gusta. Más bien estúdialo más a fondo. Suponemos que algo es malo por el hecho de no conocerlo en su totalidad. A veces, lo que parece ser agrio es más dulce de lo que pensábamos…

This time, about what helped me get interested in studying English, a language that I thought was not as necessary as many thought, but that has now helped me in my journalism career. And it is that in high school I was always outstanding in all subjects but the numbers, the English and I were not really good friends. I used to make an effort to get good grades in the mentioned subjects.
At the end of the baccalaureate, do not hesitate to study Social Communication. It is my passion, my lifestyle really. Also I would not see numbers in the course! I was already a winner for that part and English would show up a bit, so it was at that time my best choice to study. Until now I did not make a mistake on the trail.
One day during a class in the first semesters, I would see English I. At the beginning the teacher assigned a basic exam to note the level of knowledge of the students, and the truth was that I answered almost nothing, I was running away from English, I did not have much knowledge! basic! Later came a second exam, similar to the first. I didn't know where to start and I turned in the blank test.
Seeing my lack of interest in the subject, the teacher asked me in front of the whole class about the reason for my low spirits for learning English. I replied that I was not born for that, because writing in Spanish was my thing. I also said that studying another language was for tourists. Everyone laughed thinking it was a joke. Imagine what a horror! He had said it seriously, but everyone took it as a mockery. I still remember how my skin turned red like a tomato.
The teacher, with a slight smile, invited me to the board. A piece of his chalk happened to me, and he told me to write his words. I did it, trembling like jelly. I listened to his pronunciation in English, word for word, and wrote on the board without knowing if he was doing it right. When I finished, she corrected some errors in the sentence. Then we looked at it together, it said:
Language is a barrier, if we break it, society will feel more united.
That phrase moved my senses. Of course the teacher made me think again. It wasn't that I didn't understand English, but that I was my own problem. From that day on I became more committed to the subject. I studied every word, every verb, house synonym and noun in English. My grades were improving, and I managed to pass the course.
There are times when we become disinterested in something simply because we don't know it well. I thought that English was unnecessary, because I live in a country where the dominant language is Spanish. What a wrong stay! Now I know that the English language is very fundamental, as it is one of the most universalized languages in today's times. I am very grateful to the teacher who opened my eyes, and who helped me learn a language other than Spanish.
Never drop something because you just think you don't like it. Rather study it further. We assume that something is bad due to not knowing it in its entirety. Sometimes what seems sour is sweeter than we thought ...
