I have just a few photos for you today of Broad Run Stream.
I photographed this small area of Broad Run Stream when I visited the Big Gunpowder Falls State Park located at approximately 11203 Belair Road in Kingsville, Maryland 21087. Belair Road is also known as US-1 and Kingsville is part of Baltimore County.
If you are walking on The Lost Pond Trail then you will run or shall I say walk right into the Broad Run Stream! There is a map at the trail head and I also found this map on the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) site.
Broad Run Stream is a tributary stream of the Potomac River that feeds into the Gunpowder Falls River. If you are able to cross Broad Run Stream then it takes you to the Lost Pond as well as the Pot Rocks area. For me, it is easier to get to the Pot Rocks area by taking the trail across the river though.
If you do get out to see this part of Broad Run Stream then you'll also see plenty of rocks and boulders in and around the stream. It is very picturesque with lots of scenic views.
I haven't been back since 2018 and I hope to visit again in the Spring. It also looks like there may be another trail coming in from the opposite way known as the Jones Road Trail. I'll have to show that to my husband and see what he thinks of that. We could always try it and worse case scenario if it is too difficult for me then I'll just turn around. I'm sure it would be a beautiful little walk either way! 🙂
