Desde muy pequeña, los libros para mí fueron un regalo, una bendición. Comencé a leer a los 6 años cuentos en una pequeña biblioteca, y allí encontré mi refugio mágico, donde podría viajar a través de los libros a millones de lugares existentes y ficticios.
Me convertí en mucho más creativa de lo que ya era y a hablar mas (ya de por sí, hablaba mas que Carlos Andrés, según mi familia o que un loro), y a medida que crecía, mas me gustaba. A los 13 años, fue cuando aumentó mi amor por la lectura, con la llegada de las computadoras. Encontré libros online y para descargar, siendo esto para mí lo mejor del mundo, ya que mis padres no podían comprarme libros.
Comencé a leer Ghostgirl, de Tonya Hurley, y lo amé. Empecé a leer de manera voraz, como cuando quieres comer tanto algo que no te detienes ni a masticar. Así fue, leía un libro por día a veces. A veces dos si eran de menos de 200 pagina, estaba muy emocionada por ello. Así que quiero hacerles una lista de libros que recomiendo, tanto clásicos como modernos, que quizás puedan gustarles.
Aunque existen muchísimos gustos diferentes, espero que los libros les atrapen tanto como a mí. Lista de libros que leí y cambiaron mi perspectiva:

- Orgullo y prejuicio: Todos hemos visto la película alguna vez en nuestra vida, apuesto que sí, pero déjenme decirles que el libro es infinitamente mejor (si le preguntan a un lector, si el libro o la adaptación al cine es mejor, les dirá siempre que es mejor el libro jaja). Elizabeth o Lizzie, es una joven de una familia clase media, que ama leer y no teme decir lo que piensa, es la segunda hija y la más consentida por su padre. Cuando llegan a hospedarse personas de clase alta cerca de su casa, todo cambia y allí comienza todo. En el libro, Lizzie es mas segura de si misma, mas atrevida, pero también mas pensativa, y cuando sus vecinos se van, y el mundo de las Bennet se derrumba, y Lizzie viaja, pasan muchísimas cosas que la película recorta. No quiero hacer spoiler, pero los personajes están mejor estructurados en el libro, así como la narrativa es mas completa y atrapante, y ni hablar de los hechos, son mas completos, al igual que la carta de Darcy. Todo es mucho mejor. Es un libro que demuestra la importancia de la mujer, del amor propio, la inteligencia, la familia, que los prejuicios no sirven cuando hay amor, y el orgullo sirve de poco, pero la dignidad es importante, porque es lo que impide que nos humillemos mas allá de lo normal.

2.Jane Eyre de Charlotte Brontë: No es un clásico tan nombrado, pero es un libro muy completo, con suspenso, misterio, romance, drama, y más. El personaje principal es Jane, una joven institutriz que va a cuidar y enseñar de un niño en una hacienda algo alejada, y allí conocerá al padre, quien cambia todo, pero en ese lugar pasan cosas extrañas y ella empieza a pensar que algo la acecha y al señor del castillo.

3.Frankestein: Es muy nombrado, pero poco leído, un libro que muestra la maldad humana y como a veces, el ser humano es el único monstruo existente, donde existe el egoísmo, la arrogancia, la vanidad, la exclusión, el racismo y más. Un libro que todos deberían leer para entender que debemos cambiar y ser más empaticos.

4.Sing me to sleep, de Angela Morrison: Este libro leí en el 2012, y al principio pensé, el típico romance, pero no, hay mucho más. Este libro demuestra que la sociedad solo valora el físico, y no lo que somos realmente. Beth es la protagonista de nuestro libro, es una chica muy alta, con cicatrices en su rostro y gafas gruesas, pero con una voz hermosa, sublime, pero que es llamada la Bestia por su aspecto, y eso la hace recluir en si misma, a ser tímida y solo compartir con su mejor amigo. Solo que el destino le dará la oportunidad de probarse a si misma en muchos aspectos, este libro muestra el romance crudo y duro, y la realidad del mundo en cierto punto.

5.The Storyteller de Antonia Michaelis: es uno de esos libros que no encajan en lo normal, porque muestran la realidad de este mundo, de los huérfanos, los pobres, los sobreprotegidos por sus padres, en una historia que inserta la realidad dentro de otra historia. Es un libro crudo, que sin duda te abrirá el corazón y si eres muy sensible como yo, durarás días sin poder olvidar lo injusto que es el mundo para muchos, y nosotros somos bendecidos al tener familia, un techo, comida y salud.
Esos son algunos de libros que marcaron un antes y un después en mi vida, sin duda no volví a ser la misma luego de leerlos, hicieron mella en mi interior y lograron cambiar mi forma de ver todo. Así como agradecer por lo que tengo, porque hasta lo más mínimo, muchos no tienen. Los primeros tres son clásicos de la literatura, los últimos dos son libros juveniles. Actualmente hay muchos sitios que ofrecen libros, y allí los podrás encontrar si deseas o quieres leerlos en algún momento. Y si los encuentras en físico, mucho mejor porque así apoyas a los escritores.

From a very young age, books were a gift, a blessing for me. I started reading stories at the age of 6 in a small library, and there I found my magical refuge, where I could travel through books to millions of existing and fictional places. I became much more creative than I already was and to speak more (already, I spoke more than Carlos Andres, according to my family or that a parrot), and as he grew up, I liked him more. I started reading Tonya Hurley's Ghostgirl and loved it. I started to read voraciously, like when you want to eat something so much that you don't even stop to chew. So it was, I read a book a day sometimes. Sometimes two if they were less than 200 pages long, I was very excited about it. So I want to make you a list of books that I recommend, both classic and modern, that you might like.
Although there are so many different tastes, I hope the books appeal to you as much as I do. List of books that I read and changed my perspective:
Pride and prejudice. We've all seen the movie at one time or another, I bet we have, but let me tell you that the book is infinitely better (if you ask a reader, if the book or the film adaptation is better, they will always tell you that the book haha). Elizabet or Lizzie, is a young woman from a middle class family, who loves to read and is not afraid to say what she thinks, she is the second daughter and the most spoiled by her father. When high-class people come to stay near his house, everything changes and everything begins there. In the book, Lizzie is more confident, more daring, but also more thoughtful, and when her neighbors leave, and the world of the Bennets collapses, and Lizzie travels, a lot of things happen that the movie cuts out. I don't want to spoil it, but the characters are better structured in the book, as well as the narrative is more complete and engaging, not to mention the facts, they are more complete, just like Darcy's letter. Everything is much better. It is a book that demonstrates the importance of women, self-love, intelligence, family, that prejudices are useless when there is love, and pride is of little use, but dignity is important, because it is what prevents us from let us humiliate beyond the norm.

3.Frankestein: It is a listened to, but little read, a book that shows human evil and how sometimes, the human being is the only existing monster, where there is egoism, arrogance, vanity, exclusion, racism and plus. A book that everyone should read to understand that we must change and be empathetic.

4.Sing me to sleep, by Angela Morrison: This book I read in 2012, and at first I thought, the typical romance, but no, there is much more. Only fate will give her a chance to prove herself in many ways, this book shows raw and harsh romance, and the reality of the world at a certain point.

5.The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis: it is one of those books that does not fit into the normal, because they show the reality of this world, of the orphans, the poor, those overprotected by their parents, in a story that inserts reality within another story. It is a crude book, which will undoubtedly open your heart and if you are very sensitive like me, you will last for days without being able to forget how unfair the world is for many, and we are blessed to have a family, a roof, food and health.
Those are some of the books that marked a before and after in my life, without a doubt I was not the same again after reading them, they made a dent in me and managed to change my way of seeing everything. As well as being grateful for what I have, because even the smallest, many do not have. The first three are classics of literature, the last two are juvenile books. Currently there are many sites that offer books, and there you can find them if you want or want to read them at some point. And if you find them physically, much better because that way you support the writers.
