The first day after over a month of social distancing

Our city has gone 21 days without any new Covid cases, and the city government has officially announced the end of social distancing.

If you ask me how is social distancing in Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general. As far as I know, we take quite strict measures compared to other countries in the world. Social distancing means that all food, entertainment, sports, cultural and aesthetic services... must be temporarily closed. Even the delivery service has been suspended. We can still go to the market but we have to use the dated tickets issued by the government, and we are only allowed to go to the market once every 3 days. We have to implement the "5K" measure of the Ministry of Health including wearing a mask, disinfecting the body and home, keeping a distance from others, not gathering (more than 5 people) and making medical declarations on the app of the Ministry of Health. In addition, all schools must be temporarily closed. Many companies allow employees to work from home. Areas with cases will even be completely isolated from society, which means no one can go in and out of those areas for 21 days. In short, we are limited to going out and interacting with other people. Although I am not comfortable with those measures, I fully support them, because of that, until now our country has managed to control this epidemic quite well. Normally, it takes us just over a month to make sure there are no new cases in the community and then everything is back up and running as usual.

For my city, we had new cases after a 4-day holiday in late April and early May. The city government immediately issued a social distancing notice on the 3rd of May. And until now we have completely controlled the epidemic and everything has reopened. People were able to comfortably and happily participate in physical activities. I hope that the epidemic will soon be brought under control worldwide and we can enjoy our beautiful life again as before.
