Welcome to my entry for Week 02 of the Fifth Edition of the League of Movies, in which we are proposed to remember those intense moments where we sweated for the terror or suspense that caused us that specific film. Without further ado, I present to you my selection.
Bienvenidos a mi entrada para la Semana 02 de la Quinta Edición de League of Movies, en la que nos proponen recordar esos momentos intensos donde sudamos por el terror o suspenso que nos provocó aquella película en específico. Sin más, les presento mi seleccionada.
THE FLY (1986)

Gore, horror, suspense, science fiction, drama, very, very grotesque and with a touch of romance, that's what this tremendous 1986 film by The Fly is like. It got into my head from the first time I saw it, and it was one of the first I saw of this genre. It is not suitable for sensitive people, you really have to have a stomach to see it, but all the technical aspects, makeup and plot work very well, so much so that it is still shown on some pay TV channels. Although this is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name, the director knew how to recreate very well the essence of the original, but taking it to a higher point.
Gore, terror, suspenso, ciencia ficción, drama, muy, muy grotesco y con un toque romántico, así es esta tremenda película de La Mosca de 1986, que se introdujo en mi cabeza desde la primera vez que la vi, y es que fue una de las primeras que vi de este género. No es apta para personas sensibles, de verdad debes tener estomago para verla, pero todos los aspectos técnicos, de maquillaje y la trama funcionan muy bien, tanto así, que aun la pasan en algunos canales de TV paga. Aunque este es un Remake de la película de 1958 del mismo nombre, el director supo recrear muy bien la esencia de la original, pero llevándola a un punto mas elevado.

The story is about a scientist named Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) who manages to create a device that can teleport objects from one place to another, although it can not teleport living beings because, at first it is in its testing phase, but then experiments with the machine to subject a monkey to such a test, achieving success (although the first time I try with 2 monkeys that were literally beaten to a pulp). Seeing that the machine was giving positive results, he decides to enter this one to try to teleport, but, without realizing it, a small fly had entered the capsule; of course, the machine, not knowing what it will do with these two bodies, fuses them into one. What madness!
La historia trata de un científico llamado Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) quien logra crear un aparato que puede teletransportar objetos de un lado a otro, aunque no puede teletransportar seres vivos ya que, al principio está en su fase de pruebas, pero luego experimenta con la máquina para someter a un mono a dicha prueba, logrando resultar exitoso (aunque la primera vez probo con 2 monos que quedaron hechos papilla, literalmente). Viendo que la maquina estaba dando resultados positivos, decide entrar a esta para tratar de teletransportarse, pero, sin darse cuenta, una pequeña mosca había entrado a la capsula; por supuesto, la máquina, sin saber que podrá hacer con estos dos cuerpos, los fusiona en uno solo. ¡Vaya locura!

I remember that the film was showing us the slow but progressive transformation of this man, affecting both his physicality and his humanity; every day his mind is affected and the parts of his body change in a horrifying way. Until he reaches a point where he becomes a giant, disgusting and terrifying fly where he is no longer a person (obviously) but a grotesque thing that causes you enormous fear; just watch those scenes where his nails and hair are falling out, many will no longer want to see him.
Recuerdo que la película nos iba mostrando la transformación lenta pero progresiva de este hombre, afectando tanto su físico como su humanidad; cada día su mente se va afectando y las partes de su cuerpo cambiando de una manera espeluznante. Hasta llegar a un punto en donde se convierte totalmente en una mosca gigante, asquerosa y terrorífica donde ya no es una persona (obviamente) si no una cosa grotesca que te causa un miedo enorme; solamente observen esas escenas en donde se le van cayendo las uñas y el cabello, muchos no querrán seguir viéndola.

Whenever a friend asks me for a recommendation of horror films, I never forget to put this masterpiece on my list, both for its plot and story, and for the quality of the visual effects, which were very practical at the time, but with excellent results. Taking into account that it is an old film, it has known how to age over the years, so much so, that whoever sees it for the first time right now, perhaps, will find in it the same terror as I did at the time I saw it. If you want to enjoy a good horror movie, I highly recommend this true CLASSIC of cinema.
Siempre que un amigo me pide una recomendación de películas de terror, jamás olvido meter de mi lista a esta obra maestra, tanto por su trama e historia, como por la calidad de los efectos visuales, muy prácticos para ese entonces, pero con excelentes resultados. Teniendo en cuenta que es una película antigua, ha sabido envejecer con los años, tanto así, que quien la viera por primera vez en estos momentos, quizá, encuentre en ella el mismo terror que yo en el momento que la vi. Si deseas disfrutar de una buena película de terror, te recomiendo mucho este verdadero CLÁSICO del cine.

I loved the original The Fly. Jeff did an awesome acting job in that film. Every time you try to avert science and alter nature, something horrible happens. This movie is a classic now. I believe others have tried to copy it, but the originals are always the best.
Yes, this movie is very good, I have time without watching it but if it is on TV I will surely not miss it.
