Every human live at most 70 years as a Youth and the rest of his years as been aged. To further break this down.
As a child- Age 1-10
As an adolescent- Age 11-17
A youth - Age 18-70.
Looking at that analysis, we would agree we have less than 50 years to make mistakes, learn from it and use the lessons to become productive in all aspects of life. This sense make me agree with Groucho marx over his thought.
As human we are bound to make mistake. It's true to know that Everyone had failed in one aspect of life or the other and these stories of failures had been carefully written down in articles, journals , magazines and books to help others cross those path with ease. It's wisdom to learn of their mistakes because we have limited time in life to be able to make all the mistakes, grow out from it and apply it in our life and this can only be achieve if we read from others who had trend the path we envision to follow.

Let's study the life of a man in it entirely. As a child, we have instinct that directs our step. As we grow into adolescent, we strive to satisfy some higher needs on the Abraham maslow's hierarchy of needs which is the social needs and as we become adults, we aim at a higher need such as self esteem and actualization. Looking at this hierarchy, we would understand that the human life runs almost in the same circuits , this makes it easier for us to learn from the mistake of others. If we want to run fast a speaker said, run alone, but if you want to go far, go together. This may seem to talk about unity but it goes deeper to explain the need of learning from others with experiences.
Sometimes experience they say is the best teacher. But unfortunately, the experience one gain in twenty years of his life can be learn by another in an hour. Why then wait to waste much of your years over a mistake you should have learnt in few hours.
Don't make all the mistakes by yourself, learn from others, it makes the journey easier.

Something you could have easily learned in a few hours from people who had already walked through that path and has a lot of stories to tell.
