Hoy les quiero hablar del foami..pero ¿Qué es el foami?, Les cuento que es un material denominado comúnmente como Foami, también conocido Foamy, realmente se llama EVA, por sus siglas en inglés Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, o en español: Etileno Acetato de vinil. El foami es un polímero tipo termoplástico. Las ventajas del foami son: Buena resistencia al clima y a los químicos, baja absorción de agua y no es dañino al medio ambiente, incluso se puede reciclar. Éste es uno de mis materiales favoritos a la hora de ponerme a crear, por la variedad de colores, tamaños y texturas que los podemos encontrar en las tiendas de nuestra preferencia. Y es por ello que quiero compartir con ustedes algunos consejos que les será muy útil si quiere tener trabajos hermosos y con buen acabado, siempre tratando de dejar su toque creativo y original en los diseños que queramos realizar.
Today I want to talk to you about foami...but what is foami? I'll tell you that it's a material commonly called Foami, also known as Foamy, actually it's called EVA, for its acronym in English Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, or in Spanish: Etileno Acetato de vinil. Foami is a thermoplastic type polymer. The advantages of foami are: Good resistance to weather and chemicals, low water absorption and is not harmful to the environment, it can even be recycled. This is one of my favorite materials when it comes to creating, because of the variety of colors, sizes and textures that we can find in the stores of our preference. And that's why I want to share with you some tips that will be very useful if you want to have beautiful works with a good finish, always trying to leave your creative and original touch in the designs we want to make.
Ahora me gustaría compartirles unos pequeños consejos para poner en práctica esa habilidad🎨, y aprendas a trabajar con éste maravilloso material:🥰
Now I would like to share with you some little tips to put that skill into practice🎨, and learn how to work with this wonderful material:🥰
🔹1- Para quitar manchas de marcador indeleble en el foami, utilice una toalla húmeda con alcohol.
To remove indelible marker stains on the foami, use a towel moistened with alcohol.
🔹2- Si quieres decorar el foami con pintura, puedes utilizar una esponja para lograr texturas y un efecto muy bonito y original.
If you want to decorate the foami with paint, you can use a sponge to achieve textures and a very nice and original effect.
🔹3- Puedes utilizar tijeras de figuras o perforadoras con forma para hacer bordes atractivos en tus manualidades.
You can use figure scissors or shaped punchers to make attractive borders in your crafts.
🔹4- Para marcar los moldes en foami calquen el molde en papel albanene y después marquen en repetidas ocasiones la orilla ya marcada en el papel y coloquen la hoja de foami sobre el papel marcado y presionen un poco fuerte así el molde quedara marcado en el foami sin más problemas y las caritas del diseño original no variarán tanto.
To mark the moulds on foami, trace the mould on white paper and then repeatedly mark the edge already marked on the paper and place the foami sheet on the marked paper and press it a little hard so that the mould will be marked on the foami without further problems and the faces of the original design will not vary so much.
🔹5- Para hacer un mejor corte en el foami se recomienda mover el foami durante el corte y no las tijeras.
To make a better cut in the foami it is recommended to move the foami during the cut and not the scissors.
🔹6- Para realzar las siluetas o contornos de tus dibujos o figuras recortadas ( ojos, pestañas, boca, manos) utilice marcador indeleble de color... ésto le dará vida a las figuras realizadas. También se puede usar tizas pasteles, pintura de cerámica, maquillaje de ojos para crear sombras, resaltar detalles, dar luz en ciertas zonas, luego lo difuminados con movimientos circulares. Les va a encantar el efecto que le da al diseño.
To enhance the silhouettes or contours of your drawings or cut-out figures ( eyes, eyelashes, mouth, hands ) use indelible color marker ... this will give life to the figures made. You can also use pastel chalk, ceramic paint, eye makeup to create shadows, highlight details, give light in certain areas, then blur it with circular movements. You will love the effect it gives the design.
🔹7- Para marcar el foami con un lápiz, hazlo con el patrón por atrás no el que va a ser su frente del trabajo, así podrán ver dónde recortar y al voltearlo no se verán las líneas del lápiz.
To mark the foami with a pencil, do it with the pattern from the back not the one that is going to be your front of the work, so you can see where to cut and when you turn it over you will not see the lines of the pencil.
🔹8- Para ponerle colorete en las mejillas de nuestros dibujos para que se vean muy lindos y coquetos, utiliza un poco de maquillaje rojo o rosado con la ayuda de un algodón o incluso con la yema de tus dedos con movimientos suaves y circulares.
To put blush on the cheeks of our drawings to make them look very cute and flirty, use a little red or pink makeup with the help of a cotton ball or even with your fingertips in smooth, circular movements.
🔹9- Cuando se haga algo redondo o se tiene que cortar algo en curva, se debe ir dando forma, moviendo el foami. Y mientras va cortando, procure no llegar hasta la punta de las tijeras.
When you make something round or you have to cut something in a curve, you have to give it shape, moving the foami. And while you are cutting, try not to reach the tip of the scissors.
🔹10- Otra opción, es realizar los cortes con exacto (cuchilla), se debe tener seguridad y pulso para evitar errores.
Another option, is to make the cuts with exact (blade), you must have security and pulse to avoid errors.
🔹11- Puedes utilizar telas, encajes, cintas...para resaltar las piezas y darle más colorido.
You can use fabrics, laces, ribbons... to highlight the pieces and give them more color.
🔹12- Cuando quieras abombar la pieza puedes utilizar una plancha, colocarla sobre la superficie pocos minutos y la retiras, luego la moldeas y le das la forma que quieras.
When you want to bulge the piece you can use a plate, place it on the surface for a few minutes and remove it, then mold it and give it the shape you want.
