Today was the first weekend the borders between counties were open. That meant one thing - it's time for some traveling! 😊
The great mountain Velebit was swimming in the clouds!
On the other side of Velebit... The sea! It's been a long time since I've seen the sea. I've missed it so much.
The first stop was Zadar. This city has its own story and its own soul, so it was very unusual to see it empty, it's always full of tourists and locals, who drink coffee at every turn.
Bella loves sightseeing too, but in her own way 😊
Souvenir shops worked of course!
We had a little coffee & wine break 😊
The last thing I wanted to see in Zadar before leaving was Monument to the Sun & Sea organ. I tried to take off with my drone, but it seems to be broken, he couldn't take off. 😔
Monument to the Sun or The Greeting to the Sun is a monument in Zadar, Croatia dedicated to the Sun. It consists of three hundred, multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level as the stone-paved waterfront. It consists of a 22-meter diameter circle, with photovoltaic solar modules underneath. Lighting elements installed in a circle turn on at night, and produce a light show. The monument, designed by Croatian architect Nikola Bašić, symbolizes communication with nature, communicates with light, while the nearby Sea organ communicates with sound.

The Sea organ is an architectural sound art object located in Zadar, Croatia and an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps. Hear it here!

Next stop: Šibenik!
I'm so happy to be here, I love this town! It's one of those cities you fall in love with at first sight.
We were so hungry, that we immediately sat down in our favourite restaurant and ordered our favourite dishes (shrimps on buzara and octopus salad).
It's very messy finger-food but also very fun and delicious! A lot of garlic, white wine, sometimes tomatoes and bread crumbs are put in the sauce and on buzara means to stew (mussels, shrimps, etc.).
Although the weather was not ideal, we decided to take a walk through the old town. As in Zadar, there were no people as before.
I used Huawei P30 Pro, GoPro Hero8, Olympus EPL-8

Is it normally this empty or is this because of lockdown? Looks like a fun day and the food looks so yummy! I wish I could travel again
It's not usually like that, it's crowded with tourists 24/7 the whole year. It was strange, but cool in a way because I could photograph without interferences 😄 We are not in lockdown anymore, the borders are open, you can enter Croatia without any trouble. 🙄
Sounds good to me lol If i could get a flight id be there and enjoying the tourist free sites with you lol I hate having to deal with tourists even when I am one
Yeah, me too, I hate it too 😅 But I can tell you that the prices have not dropped, the prices of food and apartments are still high!
I thought Croatia was an affordable destination, at least that's what they tell us here in South Africa lol Its either Croatia, Greece or Thailand
Ah I think that will take time, people still pricing in a certain level of demand, once they start to see the new level of demand prices will drop! Hopefully Bitcoin goes on a major run so I have some travel money to live it up regardless of the price
You will have! I see..... BTC going up in the sky and you going to Hawaii with that money 😄
Lol loving the enthusiasm, in that case I guess I’ll see you in Hawaii very soon! I’ll save you a seat at the beach 🏖
Great pics you have here. It seemed though that you were basically the only visitors in the area, you and the dog who does sightseeing like a pro.
Still foggy I see, in here it's about to get foggy due to rain. Have a nice dY!
Thank you! The whole weekend was rainy and foggy, but that didn't stop us to take the opportunity and travel a bit 😊 Have a nice day & stay safe!
