Chihuahuas can also have long hair / Los chihuahueños también pueden tener el pelo largo

When friends meet Val or his brother Boris, many are surprised that they are Chihuahuas. It may be a habit to think of that breed with short hair and a round head, but it is only one of several versions of this magnificent species. A Chihuahua can have short or long hair, and an apple or deer head.

Val is a sweetness to us. Show that particular "devout" character of the Chihuahuas by lowering the ears and settling their large and bright eyes on yours. She loves being caressed belly up, and when sunbathing she seems to take advantage of each ray, as if they traveled from the fur to the heart to warm his heartbeat.

Here she is sunning with Violeta, another canine love who came to us a few years ago, when we rescued her at a bus terminal and her destiny ended up linked to the Chihuahuan family from my mother's house.

The smallest breed of dog in the world has managed to keep barking in history, as have hairless dogs (also called Xoloitzcuintle). There are few species of American dogs that survived the massacre of colonization, and there are still mysteries in their ways of relating to our ancestros.

I sense that the American ancestry that runs through the Chihuahuan being makes them take themselves very seriously. It is a characteristic that is very special to me although at the same time it is the cause of a few canine turbulences.

Saludos.

¡Gracias @sirennahippie! Amo a todos los caninos :D
