Hola mi querida comunidad de Hive. Hoy les traigo este post y lo escribo desde mi experiencia propia con mi hija de 6 años de edad. Siempre tenemos la idea de fomentar la lectura de los niños, y que es de suma importancia la creación del hábito lector desde pequeños. Muchas madres nos sentimos frustradas al no ver materializado esas buenas intenciones que tenemos sobre la lectura hacia nuestros hijos que todo queda en teoría y que en ocasiones no llega a materializarse en la práctica.
Hello my dear Hive community. Today I bring you this post and I write it from my own experience with my 6-year-old daughter. We always have the idea of encouraging children's reading, and that the creation of the reading habit from a young age is of the utmost importance. Many mothers feel frustrated when we do not see those good intentions that we have about reading to our children materialize that everything remains in theory and that sometimes does not materialize in practice.
Si bien es cierto el día a día nos consume por completo y sentimos que no tenemos tiempo para más nada, entre trabajar, los quehaceres del hogar, las actividades de la escuela, las actividades extraescolares (música, inglés, ballet, fútbol), preparar la comida entre otras cosas del día a día. Hagamosno la siguiente pregunta ¿Hay tiempo para fomentar la lectura en casa? Yo les respondo que claro que sí hay tiempo para eso y para muchas cosas más todo por nuestros hijos, pero hay que poner de nuestra parte organizándonos de manera en la cual la lectura tenga su hueco importante en el día a día de los niños (media hora será suficiente para empezar). Parece imposible, y quizás lo sea, pero hagamos todo lo que esté en nuestras manos por el bien de los pequeños.
Although it is true that day to day consumes us completely and we feel that we do not have time for anything else, between work, housework, school activities, extracurricular activities (music, English, ballet, soccer), preparing the food among other things of the day to day. Let's not ask the following question Is there time to encourage reading at home? I answer that of course there is time for that and for many other things, everything for our children, but we must do our part by organizing ourselves in a way in which reading has its important place in the children's day-to-day (average time will be enough to start). It seems impossible, and maybe it is, but let's do everything in our power for the good of the little ones.
Les cuento que al principio sentí miedo, preocupación y estrés de como iniciar a mi hija en la lectura. Sin embargo no me di por vencida y me preguntaba como empezar, que reto tan grande tengo con mi hija, pues puse en práctica estas cosas que hoy les comentaré y espero que a ustedes también les ayude con sus pequeños.
I tell you that at first I felt fear, worry and stress about how to start my daughter in reading. However, I did not give up and wondered how to start, what a great challenge I have with my daughter, because I put these things into practice that I will comment on today and I hope that you will also help with your little ones.
- Dedicarles tiempo que si lo tenemos, aunque sea un lapso de 30 minutos diariamente.
- Buscar libros adecuados a su edad.
- Crear el espacio adecuado y marcar una rutina diaria.
- Buscar lecturas y dejarlos elegir.
- Tener siempre libros a la mano para que ellos se interesen aunque sea a hojearlos e ir identificados las palabras.
- Dar el ejemplo, ya que los niños actúan por imitación, si nosotros leemos ellos también leerán.
- Dedicate time to them if we have it, even if it is a period of 30 minutes daily.
- Find age-appropriate books.
- Create the right space and set a daily routine.
- Find readings and let them choose.
- Always have books on hand so that they are interested, even if it is to leaf through them and identify the words.
- Dar el ejemplo, ya que los niños actúan por imitación, si nosotros leemos ellos también leerán.
Les muestro un ejemplo de como empecé con mi hija de 6 años de edad que está cursando su primer grado.

La inicie en el aprendizaje del abecedario para que conociera cada una de sus letras tanto en mayúsculas como en minúsculas y las identificara, para luego que conociera cada una de ellas y supiera identificarlas comenzar con los demás sonidos. Les cuento mis amigos que bastó con aprenderse el abecedario para empezar a leer cada uno de los sonidos: ma, me, mi, mo, mu y pa, pe, pi, po, pu y los siguientes sonidos. Ahora puedo decir que si es un reto pero no un imposible que un niño aprenda a leer, solo necesitamos un poco de tiempo y dedicación.
I started her in learning the alphabet so that she would know each of its letters in both uppercase and lowercase and identify them, and then she would know each one of them and know how to identify them, starting with the other sounds. I tell my friends that it was enough to learn the alphabet to start reading each of the sounds: ma, me, mi, mo, mu and pa, pe, pi, po, pu and the following sounds. Now I can say that if it is challenging but not impossible for a child to learn to read, we just need a little time and dedication.
