Shadows at Dusk tells the story of a chilling house called the House of Shadows, so that by the mid-fifties a terrible crime scene of the actress Brenda Lorillard and Ted Hughes is presented. After what happened, several communities decided that it would be good to inhabit that home, however most quickly moved away from it as they witnessed some sounds, and movements of objects, implying that the place was totally haunted. Many thought that perhaps it was the souls of the couple haunting the place.

One day Jilly Meyer (lover of ancient architecture) owner of the current house, daughter of Jackson Dean Meyer and sister of Dean (characterized by being someone quiet) and Rachel-Ann (mentally unstable, empties her sorrows into alcohol and cigarettes) decided to keep it, she really did not care if she was bewitched or not. Jilly had fallen so much in love with the place that she had forgotten how unstable it was, she knew that soon her beloved would be knocked down by her millionaire father to build a better building.

The plot is increasingly interesting and quite tangled, which presents the face of both stories, that of the main protagonist and the couple who had died in that place.

After so many scenes. Jilly realizes that she had fallen in love with Jackson's right-hand man, Coltrane; a new character, who is characterized by being a very attractive and strong man. Coltrane decided to be Jackson's right-hand man in order to pay for what he had done with his mother; to kill her.

No one knew what he wanted, only his being. He became the vengeful man to someone who really didn't want to hurt anyone. He planned to take it out on Jackson's beloved daughter, Rachel-Ann, because he was more special to her than his other two children.

The truth of the matter is that Jackson the cold, scary and vengeful father was in love with his own daughter. This was discovered by Coltrane himself, who also found out that Rachel-Ann was his sister, except for Jilly and Dean. Everything intensified even more, arriving at the day in which Jackson died drowned in a pool that was in the front part of the house when he tripped over himself and hit his head abruptly on the edge of where the content was (highlighting that it was there that Coltrane and Ranchel-Ann's mother died, who was drowned by the evil Jackson)

Jilly and Coltrane decide to be together. Rachel-Ann saw what her father intended to do with her, which was to take her away from the city; she felt calm enough to know that she would no longer have him. Having the opportunity to meet the right boy. For his part, Dean chose to live his life.

Finally, with the couple. Brenda decides to confess to Tedd what happened that day. Emphasizing that his ex-wife had murdered her, when Brenda entered the house he was already lying in bed dead. Brenda looked out the window and saw Adele, the ex, running around with her hands full of blood.

Brenda could not tolerate Tedd's death and decided to kill herself with the gun that Adele had killed her beloved. Meanwhile, the House of Shadows was sold for a movie theater.

Without further ado, I hope you have enjoyed this short plot of this great book.

THANKS FOR READING ME! ❣️

Jilly y Coltrane deciden estar juntos.

These days reading doesn't seem as popular as it used to...Sure, people read, but more often than not the masses feel more inclined to listen to a podcast or watch a video. I like podcasts when I'm driving, but reading is my thing...I read a book a week, or so. It's great to see a young person so passionate about it.

Keep up the great work.

Hello @galenkp. Thank you very much for your words, very much appreciated.

And yes, I love to read, and thank you for appreciating it. I have a great library of books hehe, a little bit of everything. Truly, throughout my journey on the platform I will not miss any anecdote or reflection of each one of them.

A hug, and let's continue being great readers. ❣️

You're welcome...I came across you through my #weekend-engagement post from last week...Someone suggested I check you out...I did, and like what I see. :)

Keep it up!

This book is deep really a sick father to feel that way, if I'm reading about this book the right way correct me if I'm wrong

Hello @polarmystro. I totally agree with you. Jackson is a very evil character and hated by everyone around him except Rachel-Ann and Dean. I really love the plot of the book, I think I've already leafed through it like three times. Every time I re-read it, I get something new. Beyond the negative side, I would say that there is a great moral behind everything.

Everything in life pays off, Jackson believed that he could continue to do wrong to others, so life itself took care of organizing everything, and that family members were able to follow their lives in the right way.

Greetings, a hug
