The year 2020 left many indelible marks on me. Yes, friends of the Hive community, it was a year filled with both positive and negative emotions.
My birthday was April 9, I turned the so expectant 33 years. It was nothing that I expected or wanted. We were in the darkest stage of quarantine. Nobody understood the pandemic, however we were immersed in the psycho-terror that was infused into us at that stage.
We were as a family starting life from "Zero", barely getting to know the culture, the neighbors, new friends ... How difficult it is to meet friends when a mask is compulsory; You can't see people's smile, it's really overwhelming.
However, my birthday had no celebration, no photos, no outings, no gifts, or anything. I told my husband to save the money so that we could buy a car because well we would need it. And so it was, in a few days, when the quarantine relaxed a bit, we bought a beautiful 2001 Renault Kangoo pickup, with the little savings we managed to collect. That was my gift.
But this is not the story I want to tell you.
I will tell you rather about the birthday of my youngest son, his name is Ezequiel and he turned 2 years old on November 08, 2020
We were really looking forward to that day. When we were in Venezuela, our situation was so precarious that we did not have enough money to do birthday celebrations as we wanted or how our children deserved it. So we were expecting that when our children had their birthday here in Argentina we would give them "a full party." On my son Ezequiel Samuel's birthday, I was trembling with fever all day, my whole body ached, I couldn't breathe well. We are serious, I told my husband crying, while he nebulized me in my bed and measured the oxygen saturation in my blood. We are going to get our chest out, to be handsome as we know, our children need us strong. My husband and I prayed intensely so that this horrendous discomfort that we felt physically would not also manifest itself in the children. We spent all day cooking and spoiling our innocent baby. With children's music, a piletica (swimming pool) in the patio so that they will enjoy bathing and a lot of harmony between the 5 musketeers that we are, always together. They ate to burst, we sang "There is such a beautiful night, it's the night of your day." Our children enjoyed it very well. There were no guests or physical gifts, but we appreciated more than ever the fact that we are all complete, we are all with Covid + but alive. We had 5 happy birthdays in pandemic. With nostalgia and longing for all of us who left in Venezuela, with high expectations of what we will achieve in foreign lands and grateful because even in the midst of disease, scarcity, tests and storms that are coming, The Lord is ours. Thank you for reading me, for following me, for the empathy of many on this great platform. Birthdays in pandemic
With Love, @graceleon
However, a few days before the long-awaited birthday, the CORONAVIRUS visited me, and settled in to live with us.
My whole family got COVID + and they sent us to isolate ourselves. We couldn't leave the house for 3 weeks. We had a very bad time, almost to death in my case, which was terribly treated by this horrible pandemic.
I made the cake, jelly, pancakes, donuts, juices, cookies with jam ... everything I had at home available I used wisely to give my children a feast
We prayed with them, thanking God for the provision and for keeping us alive and together despite the illness that visited us.
Our children are growing in the fear of God, they know that when we pray with a sincere heart, God answers our prayers.
