How to Make Pearl Sago Yam Cake

Well, to make this pearl sago yam cake, what you have to buy and prepare is as follows. First prepare the sweet potato that has been grated and has been squeezed until there is no water in the sweet potato left, then rice flour, vanilla powder, tapioca flour, sugar, salt, green food coloring or you can use other colors, coconut milk and the last one is pearl sago. The ingredients for this recipe are not much different from the previous recipe, so if you have all the ingredients ready, let's start with the first step.

The first step, what you have to do first is prepare a frying pan and add enough water to the pan, then put the pearl sago to your liking, then cook on medium heat until the water boils and bubbles for a few minutes.

The second step, while the pearl sago is being cooked until it boils, now let's start making this cake dough, first prepare a place and put the sweet potato that you have grated and squeezed before, then add 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar, half a spoon of salt and vanilla powder. Then stir until well blended.

The third step, after you have stirred the sweet potato until it is well mixed, now we will return to the pearl sago. After the pearl sago has boiled and cooked, turn off the stove and let stand a few minutes.

The fourth step, after you have left the sago mutiata, now prepare a place and pour cold water into the place, then strain the pearl sago into the place so that the pearl sago cools faster and does not stick to each other.

The fifth step, after the pearl sago is finished, now we will return to the first dough. Next, put 25gram tapioca flour into the dough and pour 250ml of coconut milk into the dough. Then stir continuously until well blended.

The sixth step, after all the dough has been mixed perfectly, now put enough green food coloring or the color you want, then stir the dough until it is well mixed and changes color.

The seventh step, after the dough is finished, now prepare a baking sheet and apply cooking oil to the entire pan so that it is easy to lift when it is finished steaming, then pour all the dough into the pan and flatten the dough using a spatula.

The eighth step, after you have put the dough in the pan, now prepare the steamer and place the pan in the steamer. Steam the dough using medium heat for about 15 minutes for the layers.

The ninth step, while the first layer is steamed for about 15 minutes, now we will prepare the second layer for the pearl sago yam cake. First, prepare a place and pour 30 grams of rice flour, half a teaspoon of salt and 75 grams of tapioca flour.

The tenth step, after you have put the two flours, now all you have to add is 350 ml of coconut milk into the second mixture. Then stir until well blended using a spoon or the tool I use like the photo above.

The eleventh step, after you have kneaded the dough until well blended, now pour all the pearl sago into the second mixture, then stir again until the pearl sago is well mixed.

The last step, what you have to do is, open the steamer and pour all the mixture of the two pearl sago into a pan that has been filled with the first layer. Then steam the dough again for about 30 minutes using medium heat and cover the steamer.

And finally, the pearl sago yam cake is finished and can be eaten together with your friends and family. It tastes very good, the texture of the cake is very soft and the aroma of the cake is very insulating on the nose.
