Curious little Bird / Neugieriger kleiner Vogel (Photo 52 Week #13 Zoom...)

in GEMS4 years ago

After quite a long time, this morning I had once again the large Telephoto Zoom lens with me, and my photos today fit into two communities: Photography / Photo 52 and Feathered Friends.

Eurasian Nuthatch / Kleiber
Photo 52 Week #13 / Feathered Friends

A few days ago I was at the reservoir and photographed during the sunrise (The Sun is still rising / Die Sonne geht noch immer auf).

Vor ein paar Tagen war ich am Stausee und habe während des Sonnenaufgangs fotografiert (The Sun is still rising / Die Sonne geht noch immer auf).

On the way back to the car, a bird suddenly landed on a tree in front of me and eyed me curiously. By the time I had the 70-200mm lens on the camera, the bird was gone already, of course, but it only flew a little further to the next tree, which was nevertheless almost too far away for the lens.

For this reason, I went to the reservoir again this morning and took the 150-600mm Sigma lens with me this time, because maybe the bird is curious again I thought.

So I waited "ready to fire" with the camera, but of course in vain ... well, almost in vain, because just as I was packing up and wanted to go, a little bird fluttered on a branch in the tree in front of me, quickly did a little business and then hopped on a branche a bit closer to me.

The Nuthatch let me relatively calmly photograph it and then flew on again - apparently it had seen enough of me and I was not interesting enough.

Despite the fact that the nuthatch had landed relatively close to me, I had to "zoom in completely", which is why these photos fit quite well to this week's theme "Zoom all the way in" of the #photo52 Challenge by @photo52 / @wwwiebe .
And if the animal has feathers, then of course it also belongs to the #FeatheredFriends by @Melinda010100.

What a beautiful bird! The colors are different from our nuthatches. Fabulous photos! Thanks for posting to #featheredfriends! ❤️ !Tip

Good morning @melinda010100, I hope you are fine and everything is ok - at least as ok as it can be these days.

Thank you very much - this curious little bird was very nice to me and posed for a few photos :)
I have googled and seen that your nuthatches really look different as you say.

Stay safe and healthy.

Thanks! All is well here today.
I assume that your nuthatches are acrobats the same as ours? I love seeing them walking head down on tree trunks!

That's good to hear :)

Head down? Of course ;)

Yep! Same!

😉 have a great day @melinda010100 🙂

Hi Johann,

sehr schöne Fotos von dem Vögelchen.

Du weißt ja ich liebe Vögel.

Ich hoffe es geht Euch gut!

Liebe Grüße

Peter

Guten Morgen Peter,

Peter

Ach Du schläfst ja schon wieder.....

Gute Nacht.

600mm lens! That's huge! Awesome job with it. Very pretty bird!

I'm glad you were able to get out and about a little. Stay healthy!

Thank you so much my friend 😁
Last year I thought I would need such a long lens and I can tell you it makes a lot of fun, but you have to think twice before you carry it with you - it weighs about 2 kilograms ;)
You too take care and stay healthy.

Nice zoom lenses! The photos are very sharp! Nice blue sky comes with the birds

Thank you so much @kaminchan, I have also been very surprised and happy how sharp the photos came out - even in the original version at 100% they are very sharp :)

Have a great week and stay safe and healthy my dear @kaminchan.

Bang, even on HIVE I did it again... I just rehived your post!
Sorry, no beers or deranged or trdo yet... waiting on steem-engine to make the move to HIVE...

I thank you very much @pixresteemer - even without getting a !BEER 😉

Great zoom

And much luck, because this little guy didn't move very fast ;)
Thank you very much @gidlark, take care and stay safe and healthy.

A nice zoomed in picture of him. We have some grey jays that hang out year round at our house, and the occasional magpie. It will be nice to be out on a bird hunts this spring and summer,

Magpies are everywhere, but I don't see Jay's that often here.
I am too impatient for a bird hunt or birding - I always hope to see a bird and it poses for me as nice as this one ;)

But I have also seen a Kingfisher this morning - the first one since ages, and I think I'll spend a few hours on one of the next weekends and hope to see it again, because when I saw it today I was totally frozen and couldn't move to take a picture ;)

Thank you very much @bashadow, have a great week ahead, but take care and stay healthy.

nice birdie, nice camera, nice lens, nice hand on a trigger! I feel envy :))))

Good morning and thank you so much @qwerrie :)
I have been surprised myself how well yesterday's photos came out, but what do you mean with "trigger"?

Stay safe and healthy my friend.

uh, probably I should say shutter?.. trigger the shutter button. click-click.

PS. we have another municipalities authorities' stupidest order to close the public parks (!) till mid-April... thats a kick behind the belly at me, as a photographer xD

I knew that - just wanted to joke around ;)

Our parks and/or better said childrens playgrounds have been closed too, but you can still walk - it's all about social distancing. All of our lifes have changed and it will stay this way for a long time I think. From April 1st we have to wear masks when we go shopping or anywhere else...

I will still try to go photographing sometimes, but I have to motivate myself a lot.

From April 1st we have to wear masks when we go shopping or anywhere else...

o!... speechless... is that recommendations... or requirements with some sort of penalties, if you disobey?..

PS.
just stumbled upon this data sheet. maybe you find it intresting:

2020 crisis.png

This is a must and I think it isn't that bad, because that way you cannot infect other people, especially the shop workers who meet so many people every day and cannot avoid contacts. But we will see in a few weeks if it helps.

I have seen these numbers before I think, but I'll have another look at it later at home.

WOW you do magic with that lens what awesome shots

That bird was really nice to me and I do believe it was the same bird as a few days before. He might have noticed then that I'm not dangerous ;)

That could well be the case, :) I hope your first day back inthe office this week is going well

I often try to scare children but they only laugh when I make my bad faces ;)

There's a lot of work to do and the good thing is that the time is running very fast :)

Austria is making the next step in our fight against the virus: from Wednesday on we all have to wear masks to avoid infecting other people ... but we are still waiting for the masks to be delivered ;)

lets hope the masks can help, and they can get them rolled out to where they are needed ASAP

Yesterday I met the first colleague with a mask - looks weird and you have to look twice or even more times to see who it is ;) lol

LOL yeah I had not thought about that that must be strange

Great shots here and the nuthatch looks like a small woodpecker.
The bill is similar to woodpeckers, but we don't have nuthatches over here.
Well done my friend!

Good morning @papilloncharity and thank you very much :)

This is just a small little bird and I am glad that it was so curious that I could take these photos :)
I have read that they nest in holes and sometimes they use old woodpecker holes in trees. In German this bird is also known as "Spechtmeise" what means the two words Woodpecker and Tit (the bird of course ;).

Have a great day and week and stay safe and healthy my friend.

My pleasure and I saw that the bird's beak was suitable to peck at trees. Normally they wait for insects to come out and then eat them.
A beautiful little bird my friend,
Blessings to you guys!

And I think that was exactly what the bird has done in the first photos - it seemed to search for food under the bark of that tree.
Thank you very much and stay safe and healthy my friend :)

Awesome shots of the Nuthatch. You must have a very powerful camera. Not that I know much about cameras. My skill where photography is concerned is aim and shoot with my phone camera. haha... !trdo

Well, my camera is at least bigger than a phone ;) ... Canon EOS R and some lenses
Thank you very much that you like the photos @quotes-haven 😊

Have a great day and take care, stay safe and healthy.

Great zoom shot of the Nuthatch with your new lens. 🙂

Oh, the lens is not very new, but I don't use it very often, because it has about 2kilograms 😉

Thank you very much Jo, I hope you're fine and everything is still ok.

Doing ok here. Shutdowns still in place. 11 people had the virus on our small Island. It still is 6 ft apart or 6 feet under. 🙃
Stay safe my friend.

Fingers crossed that you can fight this virus on your island without the loss of lifes - our restrictions have gone one step further and from Wednesday on we all have to wear masks when we go shopping. That's good and secures the shop workers I believe, because they are doing a great job and are everyday in danger of getting infected because they have to meet so many people.

I like that saying though ;)

You too take care and stay safe Jo.
