Just think positive

in GEMS4 years ago

No, this post isn't about the crisis ... just my own little crisis I had today ;)

Today I have tried to photograph waterdrops on a Dandelion clock and now I have to think positive for the next try which I will make on another day.

Either my Dandelion clocks have been too small or my waterdrops were too big and also my setup was rather improper - in short, it just didn't work, and then I broke the glass on which I had placed that little seed thing. So I said "enough for today, I have other photos to show!" and began to clean up the mess I have made 😉

Look For Sunshine, Not For Clouds

Look not for things of which you can complain,
Nor watch for clouds, unless in want of rain.
But search ye rather what the heart may cheer,
Then life's rough road much smoother will appear.

I have photographed the flowers above about two weeks ago along the reservoir where I am so often in these days - maybe you want to see my last post about it: Signs of Spring in the Woods ....

Of course, there will be a next time and of course then it will work as planned. If something doesn't go to plan today it will work tomorrow or on another day, just think positive.

So, that's all for today, and as always in these days

Stay at home, take care and stay healthy!

Week 2 of my contest just started...you can now check the winners of the previous week!

I thank you very much anyway, dear @pixresteemer 🙂

Just beautiful 🤗 @johannpiber

Good morning and thank you so much @suzana72, have a wonderful weekend 🙂

Better luck next time @johannpiber😊. Don't give up.
I am sure that you will make it work, it just was one of those days.
Beautiful flower photos from your reservoir walk.
Have a great weekend @johannpiber. Stay safe and healthy.

Actually I didn't want to make a post yesterday, but the dilemma with the dandelion seeds gave me a theme ;) ... and I don't give up 😎
Thank you very much that you like these flowers, @cezary-io 🙂
I hope you and your family are well and everything is still OK - have a great weekend 🙂

This is just a lesson, there will be one more and everything will turn out :)

Of course, next time it will work - I didn't really mind anyway, because I didn't want to make a post yesterday and this gave me a reason and a theme for a post ;)
Thank you very much @bambuka, have a wonderful weekend 🙂

I wish you good light for this weekend's photo :-)

Thank you very much, but I think it's going to rain here - never mind - I wish you some good weather :)

Some things do not always go as planned Johann. I’m sure you will get the shot you want and be satisfied with the photo of the droplets.

Lovely capture of the coltsfoot and purple flower. Coltsfoot is beneficial for certain ailments. I heard it is sometimes smoked in place of cigarettes.

I am just not patient enough and when I dropped and broke that glass I had enough, but it gave me a theme for my post ;) lol
I know that the coltsfoot is a medicinal plant, but I didn't know you can smoke it though. So, dear Jo, you eat ferns and smoke flowers - is there anything else I should know about the Canadians? ;) lol

Thank you so much for your nice words Jo, I hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂

Haha Johann. We Canucks re a different lot. Our one dollar and two dollars coins are called loonies and toonies. We eat a lot of poutine and keep saying Eh?

Have a great weekend!

I had to google what poutine is and Google showed me some photos, but I can imagine that it tastes better than it looks ... 😂
My daughter is 17, a vegetarian and she wants to have a log cabin in Canada one day - I think she will rethink that when I show her the poutine ;) lol

Have a great weekend too 🙂

Poutine is french fires with gravy and cheese curds on top. It’s not a dish for everyone but I like it.
I think your daughter would like living in the Great White North. Johann. With the exception of winter the other 3 seasons are pleasant.

It looks and sounds like eating leftovers and I am sure it tastes nice. I'm just not sure about the french fries though, but I'd certainly try it ;)
She's only 17 and there will other places come to her mind until she can afford her own house, but I have told her if she moved to Canada I'd come with her :)

Your daughter is young and has so many options open for her. If you come to this region you will have to let me know.

The shots you share with us today are bea=utiful, and good luck with your next attempt and hopefully without breaking another glass

Thank you so much JJ 🙂
I have already made my second attempt - without using a glass though ;) lol
The photos have become much better, but still not as wanted.
I have learned something though: I have used my computer monitor as background. An abstract video illuminated my dandelion seeds very nice from behind :)
And I have learned a second thing: When you spray water on a dandelion with a couple of seeds on it they will all fly away and you have to begin again because only the empty seedhead is left ;) lol

Sounds like a fun exercise i look forward to seeing your shots ;)

It is much fun, as long as nothing breaks ;)
I have made a few shots today, but I think if it rains tomorrow I'll do another session :)

Cool keep having fun your much more creative than I am ;)

I just watch Youtube videos with ideas and try to copy them ;) lol

I think I may start watching some tomorrow and see if I get motivated

My test:-)

I think they are still working on the scripts and it takes some time until everything runs fine ;)

Great focus on both of those. Really nice!

They came out better than I thought - thank you so much for your kind comment and compliment Victor 🙂

So this is a post about your mistake in making a drop hitting a dandelion? But I thought you didn't make mistakes sir johannpiber. Now I'm confused. lol.

Haha, I think I was just too impatient and should have made more attempts to get a nice dandelion photo.
I just gave up too early because I knew I had other nice photos to post and that there will be another day when I would be able to take the photos as I wanted them to be ;)

Well, now you are showing us your human side with imperfect photos! lol. It's good to mix things up occasionally.

Imperfect is the new perfect ... the lockdown has forced us to think different and to make experiments, try things we have never done before, but I have had fun making these experiments and they let me forget the world for a while :)

I guess I don't know what that is like since my lifestyle hasn't changed any! I guess I'm still a perfectionist...who never achieves it. lol.

Oh yes, I'm quite a bit of a perfectionist too ... for example, today I wanted to make self made tortilla or nacho chips what is quite easy to do. Oh, they looked kind of perfect, but their taste... well, my daughter really likes them, but she's the only one ;) lol

Oh I love it when that happens...when something is made and no one likes it except me. Then I can pig out! lol.

Hey are you off work this week being a leisure man?
