An Ocean of Books
A few days ago I was wasting my time on the internet and I came across something super cool and it really is something worth sharing, yes, yes, yes.
There is a new Google Arts & Culture tool and it is: An Ocean of Books. This is perfect for book lovers. It's an interactive website to find books, it's great, right?
Hace pocos días estaba perdiendo el tiempo en internet y me encontré con algo super genial y de verdad es algo que merece la pena compartir, sí porque sí.
Hay una nueva herramienta de Google Arts & Culture y se trata de Un Oceano de Libros. Esto es perfectos para los amantes de los libros. Es una página web interactiva para encontrar libros, ¿está genial, verdad?
And once you access it, it is like a world map of literature there is a bit of everything: Art, Science, History, Philosophy, News, Entertainment ... and many more
Y una vez que entras y accedes a ella es como un mapamundi de la literatura hay de todo un poco: Arte, Ciencia, Historia , Filosofia, Entretetenimiento, Noticias... y muchos mas
Navigating this map is quite easy, we just have to get closer and zoom in where we want and the regions, islands, cities will begin to appear and there we will be able to find our favorite authors, they even have curious data and small descriptions if you click above.
Navegar por este mapa es bastante facil, solo debemos ir acercandonos y hacer zoom en donde queremos y empezaran a aparecer las regiones, islas, ciudades y ahi vamos a poder encontrar a nuestros autores favoritos, incluso tienen datos curiosos y pequeñas descripciones si das un click por encima.
Here I am within the category of novels and I did a bit of Zoom and look at how the names of the authors begin to appear.
Doing a little more zoom and entering a specific author we can see that he has his works around them, these would be like cities and if you click on the author's name, a description will be displayed
Aquí estoy dentro de la categoría de novelas y le hice un poco de Zoom y miren como empiezan a aparecer los nombres de los autores.
Haciendo un poco mas de zoom y entrando en un autor específico podemos ver que tiene sus obras alrededor, estas serían como las ciudades y si haces clic en el nombre del autor, te despliega una descripción
The same happens when we click on the works of the author but if we click on the title of the book it will take us to another Google page where we can find more information about the books and in fact we can read some of them.
Lo mismo sucede cuando hacemos clic en las obras del autor pero si hacemos click en el título del libro esta nos llevará a otra pagina de Google en donde podremos encontrar más información de los libros y de hecho podremos leerlos.
It currently has quite a variety of about 145,000 books, certainly it does not have absolutely all of them, there are pages where you can see that the book does not appear to read it but it can tell you where to buy it. This is still in the test system, in fact the url of the web clearly has the name art experiments with Google so I still think that they will add more things and improve according to how everything is going.

Tiene bastante variedad actualmente unos 145.000 libros, ciertamente no los tiene absolutamente todos, hay páginas donde puedes ver que no te aparece el libro para leerlo pero te puede decir donde adquirirlo. Esto está en sistema de prueba todavía, de hecho la url de la web claramente tiene el nombre experimientos de arte con Google por lo que todavía pienso que irán agregando más cosas y mejorando de acuerdo a como todo esté yendo.
