En ese post había mencionado que la guitarra acústica y la guitarra clásica son similares pero tienen ciertas diferencias entonces vamos a ver en qué se diferencian una con la otra
2 days ago I talked about the 3 most common types of guitars, today I am going to show their parts and so we know better what we have and what it is for. In that post I had mentioned that acoustic guitar and classical guitar are similar but they have certain differences so let's see how they differ from each other
Cuerpo o caja de resonancia/Body or soundboard:
Es la parte más grande de este instrumento y su función es ser la base de la guitarra y la de amplificar el sonido que emiten las vibraciones de las cuerdas que entran y salen por la “boca”. En el caso de las guitarras eléctricas solo se les llaman cuerpo, ya que no cumplen ninguna función de amplificar.
It is the largest part of this instrument and its function is to be the base of the guitar and to amplify the sound emitted by the vibrations of the strings that enter and leave the "mouth". In the case of electric guitars they are only called body, since they do not fulfill any function of amplifying.
Boca/mouth:
Es un agujero que normalmente está situado en el centro del cuerpo de la guitarra y es el medio en el que el sonido entra y sale de la caja de resonancia. Las guitarras eléctricas no tienen esta parte.
It is a hole that is normally located in the center of the guitar body and is the medium in which the sound enters and leaves the soundboard. Electric guitars don't have this part.
Puente/Bridge:
Está ubicado en la parte inferior de la guitarra y cumple la función de sostener las cuerdas. En el caso de las guitarras eléctricas, los puentes pueden variar dependiendo drásticamente del estilo de la guitarra.
It is located on the bottom of the guitar and serves to hold the strings. In the case of electric guitars, the jumpers can vary dramatically depending on the style of the guitar.

Mástil, diapasón o cuello/Neck, fingerboard or neck:
Es la parte más larga de la guitarra y cumple como función ser el apoyo de los trastes, además de que es la parte en la que apoyaremos nuestra mano para poder tocar. Normalmente, el mástil de una guitarra clásica es más grueso que el de una guitarra acústica o eléctrica, pero esto puede variar.
It is the longest part of the guitar and fulfills the function of being the support of the frets, in addition to being the part in which we will lean our hand to be able to play. Typically, the neck of a classical guitar is thicker than that of an acoustic or electric guitar, but this may vary.

Trastes/frets:
Son unas barritas de metal que están divididas en la parte delantera del mástil y dependiendo del traste que toques con las cuerdas el sonido puede ser o más agudo o más grave. Las guitarras clásicas llegan normalmente a 18 trastes, las acústicas llegan a 21 trastes y las eléctricas llegan a un máximo de 24 trastes, pero todo esto puede variar dependiendo del estilo y marca de tu guitarra.
They are metal bars that are divided at the front of the neck and depending on the fret you play with the strings, the sound can be either higher or lower. Classic guitars typically reach 18 frets, acoustic guitars reach 21 frets, and electric guitars reach a maximum of 24 frets, but all of this can vary depending on the style and brand of your guitar.
Las cuerdas/Strings:
Las cuerdas son las encargadas de emitir el sonido de este instrumento, se enumeran de abajo hacia arriba siendo así la cuerda más aguda la cuerda número 1 y la cuerda más grave la cuerda número 6. Existen modelos de guitarra que pueden llegar a tener hasta 14 cuerdas pero ya esto a gusto del guitarrista. Cada cuerda en su afinación y modelo estándar se llama de la siguiente manera, abajo les dejaré una imagen con el nombre de cada cuerda.
The strings are in charge of emitting the sound of this instrument, they are listed from bottom to top, with the highest string being string number 1 and the lowest string string number 6. There are guitar models that can have up to 14 strings but this is to the guitarist's liking. Each string in its standard tuning and model is called as follows, below I will leave you an image with the name of each string.
Cejilla:
Es la encargada de reposar las cuerdas en la parte superior del mástil para que estas no estén desordenadas y estén divididas a una distancia respetable.
Cabeza o clavijero:
Aquí se sitúan las clavijas y su diseño puede cambiar dependiendo del tipo, modelo y marca de guitarra.
Clavijas:
Son las encargadas de estirar las cuerdas para templar o destemplar y así darle la afinación que queremos. Existen diferentes modelos de clavijas para dar afinación a la guitarra pero como ya he mencionado varias veces, esto varía dependiendo de tu guitarra.
Capo:
It is in charge of resting the strings at the top of the neck so that they are not disordered and divided at a respectable distance.
Head or headstock:
This is where the pegs are located and their design may change depending on the type, model and brand of guitar.
Pegs:
They are in charge of stretching the strings to temper or distemplate and thus give it the tuning we want. There are different models of pegs to tune the guitar but as I have already mentioned several times, this varies depending on your guitar.
Pastillas o cápsulas:
En el caso de las guitarras eléctricas estos son unos micrófonos que se encargan de recibir el sonido que emiten las cuerdas y a través de un cable llevar ese sonido al amplificador. Existen muchos tipos de pastillas pero los más comunes son las pastillas “single coil” y los “Humbuckers”
Los “single coil” tienen unos sonidos limpios más definidos pero su sonido distorsionado no es tan potente, en cambio las “humbuckers” tienen distorsiones más potentes pero limpios menos definidos.
Pickups or capsules:
In the case of electric guitars, these are microphones that are responsible for receiving the sound that the strings emit and through a cable to carry that sound to the amplifier. There are many types of pickups but the most common are the single coil pickups and the Humbuckers.
The “single coil” have more defined clean sounds but their distorted sound is not as powerful, while the “humbuckers” have more powerful but cleaner less defined distortions.

Selector de pastillas:
Es una palanca que se encuentra ubicada bien sea en la parte superior o inferior de las guitarras eléctricas y cumple como función cambiar la pastilla con la que se desea tocar. Estos pueden ser selectores de pastillas de 5 o de 3 cambios siendo los de 5 de mayor versatilidad para el sonido que uno quiera producir.
Potenciadores o controladores:
Son unas perillas que cumplen la función de aumentar o disminuir el tono o el volumen de nuestra guitarra.
Pickup selector:
It is a lever that is located either on the top or bottom of electric guitars and has the function of changing the pickup with which you want to play. These can be 5 or 3-change pickup selectors with the 5 being the most versatile for the sound you want to produce.
Enhancers or controllers:
They are knobs that serve to increase or decrease the tone or volume of our guitar.
Tremolo:
Se le llama así a la palanca de ciertas guitarras que constan de un puente semi-flotante y este cumple la función de bajar o subir la tensión de las cuerdas provocando que su sonido cambie bruscamente.
This is the name given to the lever of certain guitars that consist of a semi-floating bridge and this fulfills the function of lowering or raising the tension of the strings, causing their sound to change abruptly.
Jack o control de salida/Jack or output control:
En caso de tener una guitarra eléctrica, electroacústica o electro clásica esta es la entrada en la que conectaremos el cable para pasar el sonido de nuestro instrumento a una consola, corneta, o un amplificador.
In case you have an electric, electro-acoustic or classical electro guitar, this is the input where we will connect the cable to pass the sound of our instrument to a console, cornet, or an amplifier.
