Esta es la quinta parte y la ultima de mi visita a la Fundación Zoológico Santa Cruz. En esta ocasión compartiré las fotografías de todos los insectos y reptiles del Zoológico Santa Cruz. Este es un sitio donde velan por la seguridad y la salud de los animales rescatados del trafico ilegal de Fauna.

This is the fifth and last part of my visit to the Santa Cruz Zoo Foundation. This time I will share pictures of all the insects and reptiles of the Santa Cruz Zoo. This is a place where they watch over the safety and health of the animals rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking.

Antes de comenzar compartiendo las fotografías me gustaría aclarar que no me agrada mucho el hecho que encierren en jaulas a animales que deberían estar libres. Aunque me tranquiliza saber que los animales que viven en el zoológico Santa Cruz se han salvado de un final peor.
Before I start sharing the photographs, I would like to clarify that I do not like the fact that they lock animals in cages that should be free. Although it reassures me to know that the animals that live in the Santa Cruz Zoo have been saved from a worse end.
PATO DE COLLAR Y GANZO
RUFFED DUCK AND GOOSE
Esta es una serpiente no venenosa y es nocturna. Le gusta sujetar y apretar su presa mientras la rodea con su cuerpo y la sofoca. Habitan en sabanas, desiertos, selvas y zonas de cultivo. Se encuentran en estado de conservación vulnerable. Se alimenta de roedores, aves y huevos.
This is a non-venomous snake and is nocturnal. It likes to hold and squeeze its prey while surrounding it with its body and suffocating it. They inhabit savannas, deserts, jungles and cultivated areas. They are in vulnerable conservation status. It feeds on rodents, birds and eggs.
PITÓN DE LA INDIA
INDIAN PYTHON
Esta serpiente tiene unas manchas marrones por todo su cuerpo que le permite camuflarse, algo curioso es que tienen una franja en forma de flecha en su cabeza. Viven en selvas tropicales, ríos, bosques matorrales y pantanos. Se alimentan de roedores, aves y huevos. Alcanzan a medir 6 metros aproximadamente.
This snake has brown spots all over its body that allow it to camouflage itself, something curious is that it has an arrow-shaped stripe on its head. They live in tropical jungles, rivers, scrub forests and swamps. They feed on rodents, birds and eggs. They reach a height of approximately 6 meters.
MACABREL
Esta serpiente no es venenosa, su color es café grisáceo, con dos series de manchas de color pardo oscuro. Habitan en bosques, sabanas arboladas, palmerales y manglares. Se alimenta de roedores, aves y reptiles. Puede llegar a medir 230 Cm.
This snake is not venomous, its color is grayish brown, with two series of dark brown spots. They inhabit forests, wooded savannahs, palm groves and mangroves. It feeds on rodents, birds and reptiles. It can measure up to 230 Cm.

Este es el sitio donde tienen a las serpientes, como podemos ver en todos los sitios de conservación le adecuan algo de naturaleza para simular su hábitat, además se pueden observar bien los animales por que tienen un vidrio transparente.
This is the place where they have the snakes, as we can see in all conservation sites they adapt some nature to simulate their habitat, also you can see the animals well because they have a transparent glass.
TORTUGA MORROCOY
La tortuga morrocoy considerada un reptil, es conocida como la tortuga de patas amarillas. Tiene caparazón alargado y abombado café oscuro, sus patas y cabeza son de color café con manchas amarillas.
Se encuentran en estado vulnerable de conservación, viven en el bosque tropical húmedo, selvas, zonas inundables, hojarasca, matorral y pastizal. Se alimentan de hojas, insectos, frutas y tubérculos.
The Morrocoy's turtle is considered a reptile and is known as the yellow-footed turtle. It has an elongated and convex dark brown carapace, its legs and head are brown with yellow spots.
They are in a vulnerable state of conservation and live in the tropical rainforest, jungles, flood zones, leaf litter, scrub and grasslands. They feed on leaves, insects, fruits and tubers.
INSECTO PALO O TEMBLADERAS
STICK INSECT OR SCRAPERS
El insectos palo tiene un cuerpo alargado, sin alas, este insecto es similar a pequeñas ramitas tanto en color como en apariencia. En su vida realizan alrededor de 5 a 7 mudas y como medio de defensa puede desprender sus extremidades. Son animales diurnos y viven sobre los arbustos y arboles y se alimentan de hojas.
The stick insect has an elongated, wingless body, this insect is similar to small twigs in both color and appearance. In their lifetime they molt about 5 to 7 times and as a means of defense they may shed their limbs. They are diurnal animals and live on bushes and trees and feed on leaves.
TARÁNTULA
Las tarántulas son unas arañas enormes. En su cola tienen pelos los cuales sueltan como método de defensa cuando se sienten amenazados, estos pelos causan incomodidad al depredador como rasquiña, urticaria o alergia en la piel, ojos o en sus cavidades respiratorias. Son de color café o marrón, con manchas violetas en las patas. Son animales nocturnos y viven en troncos en descomposición y empedrados, es un controlador biológico.
Tarantulas are enormous spiders. They have hairs on their tails, which they release as a defense method when they feel threatened. These hairs cause discomfort to the predator, such as scratching, urticaria or allergies on the skin, eyes or in their respiratory cavities. ESCORPIÓN BUTHIDO
BUTHIDO SCORPION
El color del escorpión es marrón claro opaco. Mide entre 3 mm y 50 mm, no se puede reconocer a simple vista si es macho o hembra. Es venenoso y le gusta la noche. Vive en troncos en descomposición y empedrados.

Por ultimo visitamos el museo del zoológico, habían algunos esqueletos y animales disecados, es muy hermoso conocer un poco mas de la anatomía de los animales.
