And the date is propitious to celebrate it as the National Tree Day or Araguaney Day every May 29.
Es originario de las selvas tropófilas de los llanos venezolanos, aunque se extiende a lo largo y ancho del país.Durante casi todo el año el Araguaney se muestra de color verde, incluso pasa inadvertido, hasta su amarillo florecer –entre abril y mayo– que le cubre por pocos días de vistosas flores de color amarillo intenso en inflorescencias racemosas, que al deshojarse caen como alfombras que adornan el entorno. Y se hace propicia la fecha para celebrarlo como el Día del Árbol Nacional o Día del Araguaney cada 29 de mayo.
