(ENG-ESP) Meatloaf with mashed potatoes / Pastel de carne con puré de patatas

Happy evening dear Hivers, I wish you an unforgettable weekend.... In this opportunity, I bring you a very appetizing recipe, super easy and simple to elaborate... this was today's option, to enjoy a delicious lunch with my mother. This dish is very versatile, you can accompany it with an infinite number of contours, this time we complement it with a fresh salad and caramelized bananas, we love the contrast between sweet and salty, combining bananas with "meatloaf with mashed potatoes", is a wonderful combination.

Feliz noche queridos Hivers, les deseo un inolvidable fin de semana... En ésta oportunidad, les traigo una receta muy apetitosa, super fácil y sencilla de elaborar... ésta fue la opción de hoy, para disfrutar de un exquisito almuerzo en compañía de mi madre. Éste platillo es muy versátil, lo pueden acompañar con infinidad de contornos, en ésta ocasión lo complementamos con una fresca ensalada y plátanos caramelizados, nos encanta el contraste entre lo dulce y salado, combinar los plátanos con el "pastel de carne con puré de patatas", es una maravillosa combinación.

  • The first step is to boil over high heat 6 potatoes with enough water, add 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • El primer paso será poner a hervir a fuego "alto", 6 patatas con suficiente agua, añadimos 1 cucharadita con sal.

  • While waiting for the cooking time... Sauté 4 scallions in 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Mientras esperamos el tiempo de cocción... Sofreímos 4 cebollines en 2 cucharadas de aceite de oliva.

  • Add 1 red bell pepper, cut into small cubes...
  • Agregamos 1 pimiento rojo, cortado en cubos pequeños...

  • Add 200 grams of ground beef, along with a grated carrot (season with salt and pepper).
  • Incorporamos 200 gramos de carne molida, junto con una zanahoria rallada (salpimentamos)

  • Place 1 grated zucchini (on the thick side), I suggest leaving the skin on.
  • Colocamos 1 calabacín rallado (por el lado grueso), les sugiero dejarle la piel.

  • In a deep refractory container, add a first layer of our succulent mashed potatoes, for this recipe I love to add 1 teaspoon of butter and a touch of liquid milk to the mashed potatoes, but only a small touch of milk, because if it has a very soft texture it will stick to the bottom and you will not be able to plate it. Add the ground meat and cover with a layer of puree.

  • Add some raisins on top of the meat (optional).

  • En un envase hondo refractario, agregamos una primera capa de nuestro suculento puré de patatas, para ésta receta me encanta añadir 1 cucharadita de mantequilla y un toquesito de leche líquida al puré, pero solamente un pequeño toque de leche, ya que si queda con una contextura muy suave se pegará en el fondo y no podrán emplatar. Añaden la carne molida y cubrirán con una capa de puré.
  • Agregan unas pasitas encima de la carne (es opcional).

  • Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 160º, top with a touch of olive oil and 2 slices of smoked bacon.
  • Llevan al horno durante 30 minutos a 160º, colocan por encima un toque de aceite de oliva y 2 lonchas de tocineta ahumada.
