Hola a todxs. Me propuse comenzar a participar un poco más en las iniciativas acá en GEMS y me conseguí con una de @engerbertms que he visto a muchas personas hacer y me motivó a participar. Una de las cosas que más disfruto es ver fotos del pasado, así que esta iniciativa me encanta, siempre es lindo recordar lo bueno, para lo malo no tengo memoria.
Hi everyone. I decided to start participating a little more in the initiatives here at GEMS and I got one from @engerbertms that I have seen many people do and it motivated me to participate. One of the things I enjoy the most is seeing photos of the past, so I love this initiative, it is always nice to remember the good things, I have no memory for the bad ones.
No fue nada sencillo, ya que estuve revisando en la galería de mi teléfono y tengo más de 2000 fotografías y de ahí estuve revisando para elegir algunos momentos especiales o donde simplemente la pasé bien. Intenté subir fotos de diferentes épocas, ya que de esa manera puedo realmente contar una historia o recordar en qué lugar estaba en ese momento.
It was not easy at all, since I was checking in the gallery of my phone and I have more than 2000 photographs and from there I had to choose some special moments or where I just had a good time. I tried uploading photos from different times, as that way I can really tell a story or remember where I was at that time.
Esta primera fotografía, con tapabocas, o barbijo, como less digan en sus países, corresponde a los primeros días de la cuarentena, hace poco más de un año. No es evidentemente la historia más feliz hablar sobre la pandemia, pero sí creo que es positivo recordar lo fuertes que hemos sido al enfrentar un año tan duro y seguir acá. Sé que para muchos los primeros meses de la pandemia fueron bastante duros, pero para mí puedo decir, que por suerte, pude poner muchas cosas en orden en mi vida y además organizarme. Lo comparto porque de una mala situación saqué cosas buenas.
This first photograph, with a mask on, corresponds to the first days of the quarantine, a little over a year ago. It is obviously not the happiest story to talk about the pandemic, but I do think it is positive to remember how strong we have been to face such a tough year and still trying our best to make the most out of the situation. I know that for many the first months of the pandemic were quite hard, but for me I can say that luckily, I was able to put many things in order in my life and also organize myself. I share it because I got good things out of a bad situation.
Esta fotografía es de la última vez que fui al cine antes de que comenzara la "nueva normalidad". Ya no tengo ni idea de cuándo volveré al cine, pero este fue un momento agradable que compartí con gente que quiero. Especialmente Federico, que es mi mejor amigo argentino y quien siempre tiene una energía que te contagia y te hace querer compartir, eso sí, habla mucho, no para, pero jamás me molesta. Espero que pronto podamos salir nuevamente a compartir y que todo este tema de la pandemia quede atrás.
This photograph is from the last time I went to the movies before the "new normal" began. I have no idea when I will go back to the movies anymore, but this was a nice moment that I shared with people I love. Especially Federico, who is my best Argentine friend and who always has an energy that infects you and makes you want to share, yes, he talks a lot, he doesn't stop, but he never bothers me. I hope that soon we can go out to share again and that this whole issue of the pandemic is left behind.
Before my dear friend Javier left to his country (Colombia) we used to share a lot in squares and to walk, especially in summer because neither of us wanted to be locked up at home sweating, we preferred to walk to look for cheap ice cream or some mall with air conditioner. These are beautiful moments that I will always carry with me and that I hope will happen again in the near future, when the pandemic is behind us and my friend returns to Argentina.
Esta fotografía es de hace algunos años junto con una querida amiga, que ahora vive en España. Solíamos compartir mucho en la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Dicen que solemos idealizar el pasado y que únicamente recordamos lo que nos conviene, lo bueno, pero la realidad es que esa época fue una de las más lindas para mí, fue justo antes de que comenzara la declive en el país causada por Hugo Chávez y su sucesor Nicolás Maduro.
This photograph is from a few years ago with a dear friend, who now lives in Spain. We used to share a lot at the Central University of Venezuela. They say that we usually idealize the past and that we only remember what suits us, the good things, but the reality is that that time was one of the most beautiful for me, it was just before the decline in the country caused by Hugo Chávez began and his successor Nicolás Maduro.
Debo decir que esta iniciativa me gustó bastante porque me hizo reencontrarme con muchas fotografías y muchos momentos diferentes, algunos felices, otros no tanto, pero todos con la misma importancia y a los que less doy el mismo valor porque en esta vida de todo se aprende. Espero que continúen estas iniciativas acá en la comunidad y pronto estaré también creando mi propia iniciativa, para que participen quienes quieran.
I must say that I liked this initiative a lot because it made me meet again with many photographs and many different moments, some happy, others not so much, but all with the same importance and to which I give less the same value because in this life everything is learned. I hope that these initiatives continue here in the community and soon I will also be creating my own initiative, so that whoever wants to participate.

Holaaa, felicidades por animarte a publicar tu entrada en esta iniciativa, porque te quedó muy bien. Me gusto mucho la historia de tu primera fotografía, ya que concuerdo con tu reflexión en torno a lo que ha significado la cuarentena para nosotros. Sin duda nos ha hecho fuertes. En lo personal, espero que cuando todo esto pase, no me gustaría que volviéramos a ser los mismos de antes, por el contrario de eso, que seamos mejores; mejores ciudadanos, mejores humanos y mejores cuidando nuestra salud en todas sus dimensiones.
