Hello everyone. As i’m writing this we’re at 8 degrees here in Buenos Aires, Argentina. That’s pretty cold for a caribbean body like mine, but i still love it. I always prefered cold over hot temperatures. The winter officially starts tomorrow so we can expect lower temperatures in the next few weeks. When i arrived to Argentina it was june 25th (my birthday) 2017 and it was a big contrast coming from Venezuela’s weather to a cold Buenos Aires, but it didn’t take too long for me to get used to it. You’re probably wondering what does the weather has to do with this awesome recipe. The answer is simple: i make cakes when is cold outside, and that’s why i always gain a few pounds in winter. Plus we’re still quarantining here in Argentina so there’s zero physical activity.
I was going through the web and i saw people were talking about a cake that was easy to make adding only 14 tablespoons of each ingrediente and i had to try it. I was a little exceptical at first cause i never did anything like this before but the result was surprisingly good and that’s why i’m gonna share it with all of you.
This is all you’re gonna need:
- 14 tablespoons of leavening flour
- 14 tablespoons of sugar
- 14 tablespoons of milk
- 14 tablespoons of oil
- 1 egg
- 1 orange’s scratch and juice.
There’s no specific order to do this. Just add all of the ingredients and mix until it’s homogenous. Like shown on the pictures below:
Remember to add some oil on your mold and then covering it with flour so the cake comes out easily.
Now put it in the oven at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes.
That’s it. Take a look at this. It’s literally the easiest cake i’ve ever made in my whole life and the taste is delicious. You have to try this at home. Feel free to replace the orange for something else. Also you can add some vanilla to it.
What i like about this cake is that is not so big so that means i’m gonna have less temptations to eat like a beast. Usually when i make bigger cakes i just can’t resist but to eat nonstop. I’m a little addicted to sugar and that’s why sometimes i avoid it or i try to go more for the natural stuff, like the salads i’ve been sharing. That’s basically me trying to find a balance between being able to eat all the stuff i love but also taking care of me and my health.
What made me excited about this recipe was the fact that i could actually tell my parents in Venezuela to try it cause the ingredientes are easy to find. Sometimes i find great recipes but i know they won’t be able to find the ingredients there. Now i know they can do this at home and it makes me feel good. Can’t wait to share it with them and maybe they can sing happy birthday to me on thursday with this cake.
I hope you try this at home, i promise you’re gonna love it just like i did. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Until next time.

Que rico se ve! Amo la torta y acompañada por una taza de café sería genial, y con el frió que está haciendo en Buenos aires cae como anillo al dedo.
