Greetings guys, you're all welcome to my art blog.A few posts ago I redesigned the logos of @appreciator and the community Gems with a realistic fantasy style that characterizes me, this time I wanted to dedicate this space and time to another member who is part of the team of this community, this is @upmewhale that together with @rocky1 are responsible for assessing all the quality content that users upload to the platform. Take as a reference images of orcas, make a design a little more lively but without trying to lose the essence of the original, I hope you guys like it, thanks for supporting us every day. Now I will explain the step by step. Without further ado, let's start.
Saludos chicos, sean todos bienvenidos a mi blog de arte. Hace unas publicaciones atrás rediseñe los logos de @appreciator y la comunidad Gems con un estilo realista fantasioso que me caracteriza, esta vez quise dedicarle este espacio y tiempo a otro miembro que forma parte del equipo de esta esta comunidad, se trata de @upmewhale que en conjunto con @rocky1 se encargan de valorar todo el contenido de calidad que los usuarios suben a la plataforma. Tome como referencia imágenes de orcas, realice un diseño un poco más animado pero sin tratar de perder la esencia del original, espero que les gusten chicos, gracias por apoyarnos cada dia. Ahora pasare a explicar el paso a paso. Sin más que decir empecemos.
Process / Proceso
Sketch / Boceto
The sketch is quite simple, guiding me from some pictures of orcas, I was recreating the morphology of the whale, making light strokes until obtaining an acceptable approximation.
El boceto es bastante sencillo, guiándome de algunas fotos de orcas, fui recreando la morfología de la ballena, haciendo trazos ligeros hasta obtener una aproximación aceptable.
Outlined / Delineado
Now we move on to the process of refining, at this stage under the opacity of the sketch layer, and create a new layer for the whale. With the pencil brush I make clean, fluid strokes. As the figure is in front I used the symmetry tool to get the two sides of the animal equal.
Ahora pasamos al proceso de refinado, en esta etapa bajo la opacidad de la capa del boceto, y creo una capa nueva para la ballena. Con el pincel lápiz realizo trazos fluidos y limpios. Como la figura esta de frente use la herramienta de simetría para obtener los dos lados del animal iguales.
Colour / Color
For the coloring, I use shades with a low saturation, using the color dark blue and white as a base, I apply it with the help of the marker brush, taking care not to get out of the lines.
Para el coloreado, uso matices con una saturación baja, usando el color azul oscuro y blanco como base, el mismo lo aplico con ayuda del pincel rotulador, cuidando de no salirme de las líneas.
Shadows / Sombras
In this step what I do is copy the color where I'm going to shade and I darken it a little, then I use the marker and at low opacity I apply the respective shadow, and at the end I blur a little, to achieve a smooth transition to the medium tones.
En este paso lo que hago es copiar el color donde voy a sombrear y lo oscurezco un poco, luego uso el rotulador y a baja opacidad aplico la respectiva sombra, y al final difumino un poco, para lograr una transición suave a los tonos medios.
Lights / Luces
We continue to use the marker brush at low opacity, I apply small flashes of brightness, where I consider that the light reaches the whale and I refine the details using the airbrush and diffuse. I also apply a brighter color to the outline.
Seguimos usando el pincel rotulador a baja opacidad, voy aplicando pequeños destellos de brillo, donde considero que la luz llega a la ballena y refino los detalles usando el aerógrafo y difumino. También le aplico un color más brillante al delineado.
Background / Fondo
The background is relatively simple, first fill a layer of light blue, above this apply a darker shade of blue to form the water, in the next layer create a sun behind the whale and draw the reflection of it in the sea, finally design some waves.
El fondo es relativamente sencillo, primero rellene una capa de color azul claro, encima de este aplique un tono más oscuro de azul para formar el agua, en la siguiente capa cree un sol detrás de la ballena y dibuje el reflejo del mismo en el mar, finalmente diseñe algunas olas.
Details / Detalles
We finished the design we played with some light effects, first I create a copy of the drawing, under its brightness to the maximum achieving a black layer and placed it in front of the figure, then under its opacity to create a faint shadow, in another layer I create the reflections of the sun on the whale and finally I add some water splashes in the foreground.
Terminamos el diseño jugamos con algunos efectos de luces, primero creo una copia del dibujo, bajo su brillo hasta el máximo logrando una capa negra y la situó delante de la figura, luego bajo su opacidad para crear un sombra tenue, en otra capa voy creando los reflejos del sol en la ballena y finalmente agrego algunas salpicaduras de agua en primer plano.
Materials / Materiales
The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
Las herramientas que use para el dibujo fueron las siguientes:
- Tableta Android.
- Lápiz Capacitivo (Stylus).
- Programa Ibis Paint X.
- Pinceles: Lapiz, Aerografo, Difumino, Rotulador.
