Memories of a visit to the Yala National Park area last weekend...

in GEMS4 years ago

Hello Wonderful GEMS Community,

How are you guys? I believe you're in good healthy. As I mentioned to you last week, the tour of the Yala National Park area was selected at the invitation of one of our main customers. Before leaving, I met all the needs of the house and went on a tour on Saturday with the relevant people. In the evening, all of us engaged in religious observances at the Kataragama Temple and celebrated a fun party throughout the night.

Wildlife officials said on Saturday night that lakes and reservoirs had dried up due to lack of rain in some areas inside the Yala National Park. Even at night we understood it very well with no wind at all. It made us very uncomfortable because there was no such situation in the area where we lived.

We all woke up on Saturday night to go on a Yala safari on Sunday morning as promised with the wildlife officials. It must have been about six in the morning. As the jeep moved forward, I could see the sunlight slowly setting on the earth, despite the gloom.

As the jeep moved forward, I saw several white glowing hooks in a small pond drinking water and searching for fish. This is my first time on a morning safari. The sight of the birds waking up in the morning and meeting their needs was refreshing along the way.

Although the sunshine during the day on Saturday had a severe effect on our body, the fact that it was a little less in the morning brought us comfort. But the wind speed was not as strong as usual. The whole sky was covered with only a few small clouds of blue and white. However it created a very calm environment.

Beautiful peacocks were seen almost everywhere in the Yala National Park. They are the most common bird species in the region. I have photographed them several times and this time I caught one peacock.

Deer can be named as one of the most innocent animals to be seen in any park. We saw them eating grass in the morning. During the jeep tour I observed the species especially how their eyes and ears work subtly. Wherever a small noise was heard they were ready to flee.

The other factor was that a large number of trees were found to be dry due to the dry weather prevailing throughout the forest. But you can see how strange they are. You can also see that large lakes have become small reservoirs filled with small amounts of water.

Moving on from the jeep, I noticed a large crocodile basking in the sun. We used to think that it would not be such a big crocodile. But as the jeep approached the reservoir, it saw a large crocodile. She had been basking in the sun for a while and had left for the lake to get some food.

It is a common occurrence in Yala National Park that a large number of jeeps congregate at Yala National Park. We saw such an opportunity as our jeep was moving forward. A wildlife official who accompanied us said a leopard might have passed through the area. We stayed there for about two minutes and his statement was confirmed to be true. A large leopard began to move through the area.

I did not hesitate to videotape that Sri Lankan leopard. Many tourists had to extend their cameras and mobile cameras towards the leopard. It really is a fond memory. This was the second time I saw a leopard as someone who had visited Yala National Park for a long time. I uploaded about 30 seconds on the YouTube channel.

Then there was a very beautiful view. A herd of deer was seen running through the jungle at lightning speed. Maybe an enemy is running after them. The running speed of the deer is unbelievable. Sometimes the jump they make is also amazing.

About two hours later the Yala jeep ended its tour and arrived at our lodge. It should be noted that it is forbidden to get out of the jeep after entering the Yala National Park. It has been prescribed by the Wildlife Department for the protection of tourists. After arriving at the lodge I took a walk in the surrounding area.

If I'm going to visit natural areas, booking a walk is a must. It's a chance to make me feel more satisfied. Yala region has a dry arid climate and thorny plant species are abundant. So I walked very carefully while doing the walk.

From the photo above you can clearly see the sharpness of those thorns. Several plants with only thorns of this kind were covered throughout the area. If a thorn like this ever got stuck in our foot, it would be a very painful event. I am always careful in my travels to protect the importance of the trip.

Cactus is a poisonous plant that grows only in the arid regions that most of you are familiar with. The spines of these are also very sharp and poisonous. People traveling in arid regions should be especially wary of such thorny plants. No matter how poisonous these plants are, they bring a strange charm to the environment.

The photo above shows you a beautiful example of the dry weather prevailing in the Yala forest region. The whole sky was blue and you could see the intense sunshine on the ground and the whole environment drying up without rain.

No matter how carefully I walked, I felt a non-toxic thorn on my forehead. There was a fine scratch but I didn’t care so much. After a while I felt a little pain. However I did not try to make it a hindrance to our visit. I stood strong to my maximum.

We grow flowers at home because it has some beauty in it. The flowers that bloom in the gardens are more beautiful than the flowers that bloom in the forest. But some species of flowers that are invisible and hidden to us are also growing in the forested area. I caught a photo of a flower that is less fragrant but gives a pleasing look to the eyes. See if it brings you beauty.

After breakfast at our lodge we were ready to leave. After that we left with a special thank you to the wildlife officers who supported us. As we were traveling in the van, a variety of wildlife approached us to provide food. Many tourists provide these animals with food, including fruit, so the wildlife has little to no fear of humans. During this dry season, it is difficult for wildlife to feed and water. I was quite sad when I saw them. All the fruit we had was given to the pigs and monkeys without any hesitation. It is a great deed that we have done. This is how my trip ended up being fun. See you again on a trip like this. Have a nice day.
