I'm happy to be able to participate in this contest organized by @gertu, where this week's theme is lilac flowers, and looking in my garden I chose the Tradescantia pallida that has a very beautiful little lilac flower.
My Purple Heart
Investigating this plant caught my attention and surprised that Tradescantia pallida is also named Purple heart. With these plants I have a personal anecdote that affirmed the love that my husband has professed for me during the 30 years we have been together, enjoying and sharing wonderful experiences.
My husband is a university professor and one day when I went to look for him at his work I noticed this beautiful plant in the garden, I liked it very much and wanted to take a branch with a root to take it home, but there were many people on the site and it would be embarrassing if they saw me plucking the plants. I asked my husband to do it secretly, but he refused and asked me to go home. A few days later he came home with the plant and gave it to me, I was surprised that he remembered, he told me that he had talked to the gardener at the university and asked him for a branch for me since I liked it so much.
I currently have this plant in my garden, it is very striking for its purple color and does not exceed 30 cm in height, it is very easy to grow and with just one branch that you plant in the ground it spreads quickly, is easy to care for and withstands drought.
The Tradescantia pallida has a small flower that makes it very pretty, and if you don't have it in your garden yet, be sure to get it to enjoy its colorful beauty.
When I look at her in my garden, she reminds me of my beloved husband.

Feliz de poder participar en este concurso organizado por @gertu, donde el tema de esta semana son la flores color lila, y buscando en mi jardín escogí la Tradescantia púrpura que tiene una pequeña flor muy hermosa color lila.
Investigando sobre esta planta me llamó la atención y sorprendió que la tradescantia púrpura también es nombrada amor de hombre. Con estas planta tengo una anécdota personal que me afirmó el amor que me ha profesado mi esposo durante los 30 años que llevamos juntos, disfrutando y compartiendo experiencias maravillosas.
Les cuento, mi esposo es profesor universitario y un día que fui a buscarlo en su trabajo noté esta hermosa planta en los jardines, me gustó mucho y quería tomar una rama con raíz para llevarla a casa, pero habían muchas personas en el sitio y me dio pena que me vieran arrancando las plantas. Le pedí a mi esposo que lo hiciera disimuladamente, pero se negó y me pidió irnos a casa. A los días llegó a casa con la planta y me la regaló, me sorprendió que se acordara, me dijo que había hablado con el jardinero de la universidad y le había pedido una rama para mí ya que tanto me gustaba, “amor de hombre”.
Actualmente la tengo en mi jardín, es muy llamativa por su color púrpura y no sobrepasa los 30 cm de altura, es muy fácil de cultivar y con solo una rama que siembres en la tierra se esparce rápidamente, de fácil cuidado y soporta la sequía.
La Tradescantia púrpura tiene una pequeña flor que la hace muy bonita, y si todavía no la tienes en tu jardín no dejes de conseguirla para disfrutar de su colorida belleza.
Cuando la observo en mi jardín me recuerda ese amor de hombre, el mi amado esposo.
