Este fin de semana me lancé la misión de conseguir un outfit para uno de los días de mi graduación... sí, uno. Porque donde yo me gradúo, ¡la cosa no es cualquier cosa! Prácticamente es una semana entera de celebraciones y necesito tres looks distintos. Nada fácil, ¿eh?

This weekend I made it my mission to come up with an outfit for one of my graduation days... yes, one. Because where I'm graduating, it's not just anything! It's practically a whole week of celebrations and I need three different looks. Not easy, huh?
Y de lo que nadie te habla es de lo complicado que está comprar ropa bonita, elegante y económica hoy en día, sobre todo en Caracas. Aquí encontrar algo lindo, con buen corte y material decente por menos de 80$ es casi un milagro.
And what no one tells you about is how complicated it is to buy nice, elegant and affordable clothes nowadays, especially in Caracas. Here finding something nice, with good cut and decent material for less than 80$ is almost a miracle.
Una lección que me ha costado aceptar (pero ya interioricé) es que lo que se ve divino en otra persona no necesariamente se te va a ver igual a ti. Mi cuerpo y mi estilo no siempre se llevan bien con lo que me gusta, pero eso está bien. Lo importante es vestirme con algo que me haga sentir cómoda, segura y feliz.
One lesson I've had a hard time accepting (but have internalized) is that what looks great on someone else doesn't necessarily look the same on you. My body and my style don't always get along with what I like, but that's okay. The important thing is to dress in something that makes me feel comfortable, confident and happy.
Esta vez no contaba con mucho presupuesto, así que puse en marcha mi talento de "caza ofertas" (modo detective activado 🔍). Y ¡voilà! Encontré una tienda con descuentos en dólares donde los outfits más lindos rondaban los 20$. Para mí eso es una ofertaza.
This time I didn't have much of a budget, so I put my "bargain hunting" talent to work (detective mode on 🔍). And voila! I found a dollar store where the cutest outfits were around 20$$. To me that's a bargain.
Claro, lo barato vuela... y aunque encontré ropa que me favorecía, el color no me convencía. Y justo el color que sí me encantaba, me hacía ver como si estuviera embarazada (sí, lo dije jajaja).
Of course, cheap flies... and even though I found clothes that suited me, the color didn't suit me. And just the color that I did love, made me look like I was pregnant (yes, I said it hahaha).
Pero el universo conspiró a mi favor. La chica de la tienda, súper amable, encontró en su stock una braga parecida a la que me gustaba, en el tono que quería, y como le faltaba un botoncito, ¡me la dejó en 15$! Yo no lo podía creer. No me dio chance ni de tomarme una foto de la emoción.
But the universe conspired in my favor. The girl at the store, super nice, found in her stock a braga similar to the one I liked, in the shade I wanted, and as it was missing a little button, she left it for me at 15$$! I couldn't believe it. She didn't even give me a chance to take a picture because I was so excited.
Este outfit es perfecto para el evento más casual de la semana de graduación. No necesito ir tan elegante, pero sí verME y sentirME linda. Además, es una pieza que puedo seguir usando para una cena, una cita o hasta una reunión de trabajo. ¡Puntos extra!
This outfit is perfect for the most casual event of graduation week. I don't need to go that fancy, but I do need to look and feel cute. Plus, it's a piece that I can still wear to dinner, a date, or even a work meeting. bonus points!
El segundo outfit lo pedí por Shein (otro tema jajaja). Lo encargué hace más de un mes y por fin llega esta semana, así que pronto les mostraré cuál vestido elegí.
The second outfit was ordered by Shein (another topic hahaha). I ordered it more than a month ago and finally arrives this week, so soon I will show you which dress I chose.
