Flores de mayo - Orquídea Rumbera / May flowers - Rumbera Orchid
El mes de mayo es conocido en mi país como el mes de las flores, por eso voy a compartir con ustedes algunas imágenes de flores, ya que todos no podemos observar estas maravillas que nos da la naturaleza, les mostraré una selección de las flores que en este mes podemos apreciar en mi país.
The month of May is known in my country as the month of the flowers for this reason I am going to share with you some images of flowers, since we all cannot observe these wonders that nature gives us I will show you a selection of the flowers that in this month we can appreciate in my country.
La Orquídea Rumbera no es muy común en el país, es una planta grande y necesita cuidados especiales, su nombre científico es Myrmecophila thompsoniana. Estas maravillosas plantas crecen en los árboles y su desarrollo es bastante lento. Es una especie de orquídea con grandes y gruesos pseudobulbos que se utilizan para almacenar el agua y los nutrientes necesarios para el crecimiento. Las flores son muy grandes, con pétalos ondulados. La forma de los pétalos se asemeja a las sayas de las mujeres que bailan la rumba, de ahí su nombre popular. The Rumbera Orchid is not very common in the country, it is a big plant and needs special care, its scientific name is Myrmecophila thompsoniana. These wonderful plants grow on trees and their development is quite slow. It is an orchid species with large and thick pseudobulbs that are used to store water and nutrients needed for growth. The flowers are very large, with wavy petals. The shape of the petals resembles the sayas of the women who dance the rumba, hence its popular name.
