Dear readers, grateful for your visit to this blog of a dreamer and lover of his family and nature.

I tell you that I have always liked to plant and take care of plants. When I was still a child, I used to help my beloved mother by cleaning and watering the garden, as well as maintaining the different plants we had, which meant taking them out of their mothers and putting them in bigger ones when they had grown; sometimes I only had to cut the roots and put in some fertilizer.

I took care of the garden without being asked, it was something natural that filled me with positive energy, because it is gratifying to see how a seed you sowed becomes a plant and bears fruit or when a small plant grows and fills with flowers, and what I enjoyed most, was when some weekends we all went out to look for fertilizer on the plains, outside our little town and invited my beloved grandmother Tomasa, God rest her soul.

We used to take advantage of those occasions to fish, they were spectacular field days. When midday came, we would get ready to eat, sometimes we would prepare what we had caught, with arepas that we made with firewood, and other times my mother would take a big tray of spaghetti with tuna or ground meat, which we all ate with great pleasure.

My father had a pickup truck, where we would place the bags of donkey and/or horse excrement, which when we got home we would put in a corner of the patio and for several days we would pour water on it to get out as much of the urine as possible, so that we could use it as natural fertilizer for our plants. When we managed to get enough, we sold some sacks, which was an extra income in our home, which we usually used to buy snacks.

There were times when it wasn't dangerous to go to the country, how much I wish it could be done today, to be able to enjoy that experience with my children... to watch them fish.

My father, because of his job, knew almost all the places where we could go fishing and collect "compost", generally they were places close to the places where he worked from Monday to Friday and at the weekend he would take us fishing. Sometimes, we also invited friendly neighbors, whom his parents authorized, to go with us; then the pickup was full of teenagers who went happily with their homemade rods, made of tree branches, nylon and hooks. The night before, we would prepare the bait, which sometimes was dough made of wheat flour, the same that is used to make bread; other times, we would also take little sardines, which we would buy in the market and bite them to put small pieces on the hook.

My grandmother was happy fishing, what a joy to see her take out a guabina (river fish) or a sardine, we all applauded happily.

How many happy moments we all enjoyed, they were peaceful times of villagers.
