Law Digest: Ignorance of Law is not an excuse

in GEMS4 years ago

This week don’t play an ignorance card when you can be smart and involve a lawyer in your transaction(s). No matter how minute the deal, agreement, or transaction might be; you will need an expert to review some certain details for you.

There is a reason why they are being taught in colleges and universities. If agreement and contract are that easy, there won’t be any need for attorneys/lawyers again.

Take a clue from this COVID19 era and its effect on Business/Contractual agreements.

Most contractual agreements have been brought to halt and frustrated due to global restrictions- border closure etc.
If those agreements does not include clauses such as “Force Majeure, Indemnification, Damages, Confidentiality, Dispute Resolution” etc.
Court may assume that parties have waived such rights. And it might be unfair to either parties.

Hence, the rational behind why you need a lawyer to oversee your land documents, property management and MOUs.
