A penas leí sobre esta idea supe que no sería fácil escoger solo tres gaitas porque al igual que para muchos venezolanos el sonido particular del furro, la tambora, el cuatro, las maracas y demás instrumentos que dan vida a la Gaita Zulia, es sinónimo de Navidad y a las vez de compartir, unión familiar, nostalgia y muchos sentimientos que afloran en la llamada época más bonita del año.

As soon as I read about this idea I knew it would not be easy to choose only three gaitas because for many Venezuelans the particular sound of the furro, the tambora, the cuatro, the maracas and other instruments that give life to the Gaita Zulia, is synonymous with Christmas and at the same time of sharing, family togetherness, nostalgia and many feelings that arise in the most beautiful time of the year.

De pequeña recuerdo que soñaba con visitar la ciudad de Maracaibo y saber si era verdad que cuando se atravesaba el puente sobre el lago se formaba un nudo en la garganta... ja,ja,ja Por ahora no te tenido la oportunidad de viajar hasta allá, más he podido sentir ese nudo cada vez que escucho una gaita en la voces de grandes músicos como Ricardo Cepeda, Betulio Medina, Abdénago “Neguito” Borjas y otros grandes intérpretes.

As a child I remember dreaming of visiting the city of Maracaibo and knowing if it was true that when you crossed the bridge over the lake a knot formed in your throat... ha,ha,ha,ha For now I have not had the opportunity to travel there, but I have been able to feel that knot every time I hear a gaita in the voices of great musicians like Ricardo Cepeda, Betulio Medina, Abdénago "Neguito" Borjas and other great performers.

La primera que escogí justamente fue escrita por “Neguito” Borjas en el año 1977, dedicada a un amor de juventud que marcó una huella muy honda en su corazón. La letra de esta gaita romántica creo que habla por si sola, cuando se ha perdido un amor que se pensaba sería para toda la vida solo queda agradecer a Dios por todo lo aprendido y lo vivido, sin guardar rencor a quien en su momento se amó.

The first one I chose was written by "Neguito" Borjas in 1977, dedicated to a young love that left a deep mark in his heart. The lyrics of this romantic gaita speak for themselves, when you have lost a love that you thought would last a lifetime, you can only thank God for everything you have learned and lived, without holding a grudge against the one you loved at the time.

Nunca es tarde para amar es el nombre de mi segunda gaita favorita, uno de los clásicos de Betulio Medina y su Maracaibo 15. Soy fiel creyente de que para amar nunca es tarde, no hay diferencia que pueda con un sentimiento tan puro y tan noble como el amor, solo hay que tener la determinación y la convicción de que cuando se quiere se puede.

It is never too late to love is the name of my second favorite gaita, one of the classics of Betulio Medina and his Maracaibo 15. I am a faithful believer that it is never too late to love, there is no difference that can with a feeling as pure and noble as love, you just have to have the determination and conviction that when you want it you can.

Para el tercer puesto en lugar de escoger una sola gaita y como me costó decidirme quise hacer mención a uno de los cantantes más destacados de la gaita zuliana; el maestro Ricardo Cepeda, quien interpreta de forma magistral temas como “Mi Ranchito”, “Madre es Madre"; ambos escritos por Ricardo Portillo, “Mi Nostalgia” de Simón García y “Aquel Zuliano” de Renato Aguirre, incluidos en el Free Cover en homenaje a “El Colosal” como también es conocido este intérprete en el ámbito musical.

The most outstanding gaita musicians of Zulia; Maestro Ricardo Cepeda, who masterfully interprets songs such as "Mi Ranchito" and "Madre es Madre"; both written by Ricardo Portillo, "Mi Nostalgia" by Simón García and "Aquel Zuliano" by Renato Aguirre, included in the Free Cover in tribute to "El Colosal", as this performer is also known in the musical field.

Waaooo amiga 3 gaitas espectaculares de verdad como dices la gaita es sinónimo de navidad, unión familiar, fiestas decembrina, es difícil escoger tres lo se porque todas son maravillosas, pero estas tres son buenísimas, gracias por participar amiga 🤗
