Mi mejor amiga estaba trabajando en Canaima dictando unos talleres de turismo para los trabajadores de los campamentos de la comunidad Indígena de Canaima y una semana después de comenzar necesitaron más personal para trabajar y como ambos somos licenciados en turismo, ella me llamó y yo acepté y en dos días tomé el avión Cáraban desde el aeropuerto y salí rumbo a Canaima.
My best friend was working in Canaima dictating some tourism workshops for the workers of the Canaima indigenous community camps and one week after starting they needed more staff to work and since we are both graduates in tourism, she called me and I accepted and in two days I took the Cáraban plane from the airport and left for Canaima.
Al llegar Caminé hasta el Campamento Canaima con mi nueva jefa.
Upon arrival I walked to Canaima Camp with my new boss.
Y ella me condujo hasta la que seria mi casa durante ese mes de trabajo en el campamento.
And she led me to what would be my home during that month of work in the camp.

Y después de instalarme en mi cabaña nos reunirnos todos los involucrados y me pusieron al día con todo lo que me correspondía hacer como un facilitador y al día siguiente comencé a trabajar. Este es el primer grupo de trabajadores al que se le dictó el taller después de mi llegada, los talleres consistían en enseñarle a estar personas que en su mayoría eran indígenas, los conceptos básicos del turismo y todo lo que implica la actividad que ya ellos estaban realizando en sus lugares de trabajo, además de enseñarle los conceptos y la práctica de la atención al público.
And after settling in my cabin, everyone involved met me and they brought me up to date with everything I had to do as a facilitator and the next day I started working. This is the first group of workers to whom the workshop was given after my arrival, the workshops consisted of teaching them who were mostly indigenous, the basic concepts of tourism and everything that implies the activity that they were already performing at their workplaces, in addition to teaching the concepts and practice of customer service.
Luego fuimos visitando los demás campamentos de la zona para continuar con el trabajo, el cual era un programa del ministerio de turismo, además de lo antes mencionado también hacíamos actividades que consistían en practicar el trabajo en equipo y el liderazgo para que pudieran desempeñarse mejor en sus puestos de trabajo.
Then we were visiting the other camps in the area to continue with the work, which was a program of the Ministry of Tourism, in addition to the aforementioned we also did activities that consisted of practicing teamwork and leadership so that they could perform better in their jobs.

Después de terminar una de las clases fuimos un rato a jugar a la orilla de la laguna con los participantes.
After finishing one of the classes we went for a while to play on the edge of the lagoon with the participants.
Para todos nosotros el estar allí era realmente un espectáculo a la vista y ellos estaban realmente contentos de tenernos allí para enseñarles, estar allí y compartir con ellos todas esas experiencias fue un verdadero regalo, pero el trabajo seguía por los diferentes campamentos y continuamos realizando las actividades con el personal que allí laboraba.
For all of us, being there was really a spectacle in sight and they were really happy to have us there to teach them, to be there and to share with them all those experiences was a true gift, but the work continued through the different camps and we continued doing activities with the personnel who worked there.
Para la mayoría de esas personas era la primera vez que se les daba alguna clase al respecto de la actividad turística y estaban realmente ávidos de conocimiento.
For most of these people, it was the first time that they had been given any kind of tourism class and they were really hungry for knowledge.
La gente que vive en Canaima está realmente avocada al turismo, todo allí gira en torno al turismo y servir bien a los turistas es lo más importante para ellos.
Un día mi amiga y yo fuimos a dar un Paseo al Salto El Sapo ubicado del otro lado de la laguna de Canaima, es un paseo realmente espectacular y para tomar esta foto tuvimos que atravesar un camino que pasa por detrás del agua de la cascada, de un lado una pared de roca y del otro una pared de agua, nada fácil para alguien que sea claustrofóbico, pero lo que se ve del otro lado realmente vale el esfuerzo.
The people who live in Canaima are really devoted to tourism, everything there revolves around tourism and serving tourists well is the most important thing for them.
One day my friend and I went for a walk to El Sapo waterfall located on the other side of the Canaima lagoon, it is a really spectacular walk and to take this photo we had to cross a path that passes behind the waterfall water, on one side a rock wall and on the other a water wall, not easy for someone if is claustrophobic, but what you see on the other side is really worth the effort.
Mi amiga Andreyna también está en hive gracias a mi y pronto estará totalmente activa con su usuario @andreyna, ella y yo somos Licenciados en Turismo egresados de la Universidad de Oriente en Venezuela y somos dos personas que realmente amamos nuestra carrera y por eso estar allí y dar de nuestro conocimiento a esas personas, fue una de las experiencias mas gratificantes de nuestras vidas.

My friend Andreyna is also on hive thanks to me and will soon be fully active with her user @andreyna, she and I are Tourism Graduates from Universidad de Oriente in Venezuela and we are two people who really love our career and that's why being there and giving our knowledge to these people was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.
